Highest rated player so far this season in MLS per American Soccer Analysis’ G+ ranking is an American. Without looking, who is it?

@LombardiHimself The Raiders beat the Patriots in the first game of the season just like the 49ers beat the Seahawks in the first game of the season. Neither one of those two were on the same level as the Super Bowl teams by the end of the year. 49ers Super Bowl was week 1

The 49ers beat and statistically dominated Seattle last season when they were generally (not even fully) healthy. Anyone saying there is a roster gap between SF and SEA/LA is simply ignorant of facts. And the 49ers have added A LOT this offseason at exact spots of weakness

@NobletStrength @TaylorTwellman That makes sense and good to know. Hadn’t thought about it but with how athletic and elite at jumping they are they must be fast/explosive

@beaucrosetto @TaylorTwellman Goalkeepers are elite level power and speed athletes and also usually have substantially less fatigue due to less running demands. It is actually not that uncommon for a goalkeeper at this level to have very high sprint speeds.

@JacksonOnRadio Morris is a favorite of mine but he does not look to form. Have to believe a better striker option is coming in second half

There's a physicist at Stanford named Safi Bahcall who modeled this exact principle and the math is wild. He calls it "phase transitions in human networks." When you're stationary, your probability of a lucky event is limited to your existing surface area: the people you already know, the places you already go, the ideas you've already been exposed to. Your opportunity window is fixed. When you move, your collision rate with new nodes in a network increases nonlinearly. Double your movement (new conversations, new cities, new projects) and your probability of a serendipitous encounter doesn't double. It roughly quadruples. Because each new node connects you to their entire network, not just to them. Richard Wiseman ran a 10-year study at the University of Hertfordshire tracking self-described "lucky" and "unlucky" people. The single biggest differentiator wasn't IQ, education, or family money. Lucky people scored significantly higher on one trait: openness to experience. They talked to strangers more, varied their routines more, and said yes to invitations at nearly twice the rate. The "unlucky" group followed the same routes, ate at the same restaurants, and talked to the same 5 people. Their networks were closed loops. No new inputs, no new collisions. Luck isn't random. Luck is surface area. And surface area is a function of movement. The lobster emoji is doing more work than most people realize. Lobsters grow by shedding their shell when it gets too tight. The growth requires a period of total vulnerability. No protection, no armor, soft body exposed to the ocean. That's the cost of movement nobody posts about. You have to be uncomfortable first. The new shell only hardens after you've already moved.

NEW: Oregon QB coach Koa Ka’ai evaluates recruits with a simple question: “Chocolate or vanilla ice cream?” Any hesitation… and coach doesn’t want him. “If you pause on ice cream,” Ka’ai says, “what are you going to do on 3rd down in front of 110,000 fans?” 😳

@RyanDivish Honest question: if your whole body goes out of the field why is that not a home run? The ball made it out. Seems like you should have to stay in the field for it to be an out. You’re bringing the ball back into play. This is not what happened

The passenger next to me was crying cause she might miss her connecting flight to China. A flight attendant was passing out snacks. He could’ve kept moving, but instead he stopped, bent down, talked to her, and gave her hope. They hugged, and let me tell you, THAT HUG WAS EVERYTHING! After she was smiling from ear to ear. My brotha, may you and your family be blessed. Thank you for choosing kindness and reminding us how much one moment can matter. *United Flight 1807 Chicago to SF leaving at 6:46am (2/8/26)*
