I passed by a little boy selling bananas yesterday night at around 9 PM while returning home. I heard a tiny but passionate voice calling me and pleading that I should please buy bananas. He looked so tattered and tired, wearing different legs of slippers. I couldn't believe my eyes seeing such a little boy selling alone by a roadside at that hour of the night. Out of curiosity, I asked about his age and he told me 10 years 😭.. haaa, it broke me, and I later discovered from him that he's living with someone, not his biological parents..😭😭 I then packed all the bananas, gave him money, and told him to go home.. I know some people will call this training, but I see it as insensitive and non-compassionate. I see it as maltreatment. ✅️Dear parents, please take care of your children by yourself.. stop giving them out anyhow unnecessarily, take responsibility. ✅️Give birth to only what you can train.. a lot of people don't have the good mind to treat other people's children right. Let's stop child labour. ✅️Dear caregiver, please treat others well. We don't know what tomorrow holds, and their little minds may not forget except through the mercy of God. Be compassionate. CHILDREN ARE GOD'S HERITAGE, LET'S TREAT THEM RIGHT. MAY GOD HELP US ALL. Let us be the protectors of their innocence, not the authors of their pain. Every child deserves a safe home, a warm bed, and a chance to just be a child. Let us love them, shield them, and give them the future they truly deserve. My dad shared his properties after his 70th birthday. We were emotional. We thought he was trying to tell us goodbye. He wasn't. He simply wanted to see us enjoy what he had built while he was still alive. The sons got houses he had built. One of my brothers asked for permission to sell his. My dad said, "It's yours. Do whatever you want with it." He sold it and moved to the US. Ten years later, he has built a beautiful home of his own. Another brother rushed to marry his girlfriend, moved into the house, and started a family. Today, he is looking for ₦60 million to relocate with his family. Same gift. Different decisions. Different outcomes.

My daughter knows I love her deeply, but I don't hesitate to discipline her when she crosses the line. Last night, after a serious talk-down, I sent her upstairs to her room. Tell me why this little girl woke up this morning and one of the first things she asked was, “Dad, why didn't you come upstairs to pray and kiss me last night?” We spent almost ten minutes talking about what happened the previous night, and the girl calmly told me she was wrong, but that I was wrong for not coming upstairs to pray and kiss her. Once again, I got reminded that we shouldn't be so angry with the people we love that we stop showing them love and care.
