I'm so pleasantly surprised by the Stargate actors and crew showing up and speaking out for #SaveStargate. I normally avoid learning anything about them beyond the character to enjoy immersion. But this is absolutely an exemption. Respect to you all. @tanpukunokami I grew up with one and made sure I had one as an adult. They are all of the above although I will say my home now has one of the least scary basements ever. It’s very plain and well lit.

Americans, I need to ask something that may sound stupid 🇺🇸 Did you actually grow up with a basement? In Japan, most people go their whole life without ever having one. I’ve never lived in a house with a basement. Not as a bedroom. Not as a game room. Not as a storage space. Not as a storm shelter. But for some Americans, basements seem to be part of childhood, family memories, sleepovers, laundry rooms, creepy stories, or tornado safety. So I want to understand: Was your basement normal and boring? Scary? A family hangout spot? Or something only certain states really understand?

@japan_nobunaga No sidewalks where I grew up. It can be weird seeing people walking especially near major highways, etc.

Americans, genuine culture shock 🇺🇸 I read that in many US towns there are NO sidewalks — and if you walk somewhere, people assume your car broke down 😂 In Japan, everyone walks everywhere. Normal. Is it really true that walking is "weird" in some places? Which state is the worst for it? 🚶
