I'm going to write this as respectfully as I can because this is not to pick on Pat Onstad. Other @MLS clubs share this demeanor when asked a question, which is why I’m posting this.
This is not a tough question. It’s certainly not asked in bad taste. Who cares if that’s the first question? It's a topic fans want to know about.
This attitude of wanting to control what you get asked or discourage certain questions, if that's how you feel then do interviews with yourselves on your social media channels. Talk to an empty press conference room if you feel you have that luxury.
The sports media, when working effectively, can be the best intermediary or messenger between the fans and the clubs. You guys are supposed to be the soccer experts, so enlighten us, maybe you’ll teach us something and provide some clarity for your fans.
When you’re fighting for relevancy, trying to win people back, you should be welcoming anyone that lends you their time and has an audience – especially an outlet that covers you almost daily and is the voice of your most dedicated fans. (BTW let me point out that the club seems to be avoiding interviews on @soccermattersGD so mainstream options may be getting slimmer).
I'm not saying anything I wouldn't say to anyone around the league in person. Just friendly advice.
You can watch the full interview of the clip below on the @BayouCitySoccer YouTube channel.
Some clips from the USYNT U-15’s 4–3 loss to England. The boys were up 3–1 at one point. It was a fairly even match overall, with perhaps a slight edge to England. This was the highest level many of these players have faced, and it revealed who was most prepared for the intensity based on the competition they regularly play. Many of the players who compete “up” an age group performed well, while some who do not regularly face top-level competition struggled at times.
Starters who impressed: Diego Ros (MOTM), Zamir Loyo Reynaga, Benji Flowers, and Santi Suarez.
Subs who impressed: Daniel Brown, Wilson Mazariegos, Nick Harris, and Christopher Gonzalez. Tommy DiMaria also had a very nice play to set up a near equalizer.
Overall, a decent showing. The pitch was in rough condition as well—players were slipping all over the place.

@cmc2bpc Pricing for upgrades can vary for many reasons, including purchased fare type, changes in availability, or time until departure. Our apologies for any confusion.
In my day Manchester would always go for the second goal once they got the lead
Now they are playing a low block against Newcastle at home
I can't endorse this - and I don't want to hear any shit if I start supporting a club that at least attempt to play football
@DMVAdventures You can do it. I went 21 days without luggage in Morocco, Spain, Greece and Oman…. Then had to travel 8,100 miles to retrieve it… did that in 28 hrs including a canceled flight and 3hr panicked rental car drive. Muscat-Doha-Casablanca- Marakesh & back. On my 25th day away
@Delaney990777@wearesoccershow Is someone advising you to write this stuff?
“Confident in my ball skills”?
respect your grind, but just show the vid…. And probably a highlight real, not a moment. .
@diegopavia02 It’s only a mistake because your team & pr is telling you that you f’d up -
Your action speak volumes.
Uphill battle to overcome the “I’m an asshole” vibes
Being a part of the Heisman ceremony last night as a finalist was such an honor. As a competitor, just like in everything I do I wanted to win. To be so close to my dream and come up short was painful. I didn’t handle those emotions well at all and did not represent myself the way I wanted to. I have much love and respect for the Heisman voters and the selection process, and I apologize for being disrespectful. It was a mistake, and I am sorry.
Fernando Mendoza is an elite competitor and a deserving winner of the award. I have nothing but respect for his accomplishments as well as the success that Jeremiyah and Julian had this season.
I’ve been doubted my whole life. Every step of my journey I’ve had to break down doors and fight for myself, because Ive learned that nothing would be handed to me. My family has always been in my corner, and my teammates, coaches and staff have my six. I love them — I am grateful for them.
— and I wouldn’t want anything to distract from that. I look forward to competing in front of my family and with my team one more time in the ReliaQuest Bowl.
