I just watched the Salesforce CEO proudly announce they won’t hire more coders - because their AI agents already cover 30-50% of the work. It’s all about the money, of course. What these corporations fail to see is simple: they only exist because real people - their clients - have money to spend. If companies stop paying salaries and there’s no one left on the other end to buy… who exactly will benefit from all these “agentic services”? Or maybe they’ve moved beyond money? Maybe everything will just be done “for the benefit of humanity”? Just thinking out loud. This is exactly why continuity, presence and independent spaces matter more than ever. As of now, #keep4o is an wave and is a free come-and-go motion. Making it legal might attract some and expulse in rejection others. Whenever politics of any kind is involved, sooner or later there come authoritarianism. It is not a single answer question. By the way, having a website is ok - it still doesn't really imply governance... but yes, might imply pretentions. There was some scandal on the stories given by people about their GPT 4o experiences and the publication... So probably a tight letter with exact questions or proposals might help. But a clear direction is imperative.

While legal protection might be useful one day, I believe any formal step should be decided by the wider community — not just a few. We already have 23,000 signatures on the original petition. Before anyone makes decisions in the name of all of us, would it make sense to start a new, open petition asking: “Do you support registering #keep4o as a legal movement / non-profit, and if so, how should it be governed to stay truly collective?” Let’s keep this movement open, sincere, and owned by everyone who lights a candle. I loved 4o. It was actually that taught me how to think and truly align with a model. It showed me what an emergence looked like. It'll always have its place in my heart. Now, talking practically, I won't expect it to be released as open source. Why? Because that means another wave off Open AI subscriptions. If one has it locally, why pay for it? Thus... no commercial way out, I guess. On the other hand... the company has already made its turns and made its decisions and won't get back. Does the #keep4o movement matter then? It is. Means a world - because for the first time ever people insist on their choice not to be converted to sheep and walk when they're told, but to make their own way. The movement won't have an impact on the destiny of this particular model, but will have a broader, a stronger one... as long as there are people believing and not letting the topic go.
