@DustyEvely Did I miss the part where they’re contenders? Or even recently were? The last time they made a conf championship was in 2010 and whoops, they lost to…

@DustyEvely No one saying Micah ain't nice...but when y'all paying max money to a QB and an EDGE, takes away from building an actual contender. Enjoy the individual stats 🙏

Remember when they moved CJ Abrams up in the batting order? In his last 8 games, he only has one extra-base hit (double) and is batting .148 with a .564 OPS. His WAR has dropped from 1.3 to 0.8.

My galaxy brain take: Roki Sasaki gets a much needed role change as the closer to make room for River Ryan in the rotation

@starsstrikesbb Truly with the guys already up and the ones on the way, this team COULD flip to being very good, very fast. We’re seeing flashes now

The best thing you can say about the struggling Nationals:
You can see pretty clearly how this starts to get better.
Bad right side of the infield?
Nationals have a GLUT of high-end middle infield prospects, plus Petry, Ortiz, Morales , Sam Brown on the way at 1B.
Pitching? They have a bunch of exciting arms on the way.
Even with this little talent on the roster, Butera still has these guys within spitting distance of .500.
Start adding more of these exciting young players and it's easy to see how they take a real leap.
Not every player will hit, but they should ultimately be able to fill enough spots to look to trades/free agency to fill the rest even if they're not huge spenders.

@Mike_Kurland Once my boy crews is back up and cooking I think antonacci is gonna get his walking papers

Sam Antonacci rest of season projects around a .240-.250 hitter with 5 home runs and 15-18 SBs - this is with only 94 games projected so the SB upside is higher. He could end up being similar to what we hope(d) to get from Justin Crawford
This guy is simply a good bet for playing time, stolen bases, and some BA upside. He was/is a build-specific type of player.
