@ColtsFanCole Riley should want out too. Was the only healthy QB on the roster last season, and they preferred to sign/play a grandpa rather than run him out there.

@mchappell51 The surprising part is they're running it back with the same GM and HC. Masterclass in how to set a franchise back 20 years.

Day late on this, but Ballard's radio comments yesterday were such bullshit for someone with his resume that hasn't deserved to keep his job for years. Calling out the fans who want him deservedly fired as too chickenshit to say something in person is so unprofessional.

@UnderdogNBA Pacers have been fined once all year, 100K total, should consider themselves fortunate. NBA has an issue, when teams want to lose, it's no longer sport.

Rick Carlisle on Pacers' $100K fine for violating the Player Participation Policy: "During the interview (with the NBA), they also asked if we considered medicating (Aaron Nesmith) to play in a game when we were 30 games under .500." Carlisle said that Nesmith could not hold onto a basketball but the NBA "unilaterally decided" he should have played in the game in question, without talking to Nesmith or Pacers' doctors. x.com/kbowen1070/sta…

@mcuban yeah, regarding affordability, fans pay NBA prices in advance to see certain players. Only for said players to "rest". It's a problem. If players can't play back to backs, perhaps fix the scheduling or shorten the season. Or shorten their minutes in the game vs not dress them

Why the NBA should embrace tanking - The NBA has kate been misguided thinking that fans want to see their teams compete every night with a chance to win. It’s never been that way that way. When I got into the nba, they thought they were in the basketball business. They aren’t. They are in the business of creating experiences for fans. Few can remember the score from the last game they saw or went to. They can’t remember the dunks or shots. What they remember is who they were with. Their family, friends, a date. That’s what makes the experience special. Fans know their team can’t win every game. They know only one team can win a ring. What fan that care about their team’s record want is hope. Hope they will get better and have a chance to compete for the playoffs and then maybe a ring. The one way to get closer to that is via the draft. And trades. And cap room. You have a better chance of improving via all 3 , when you tank. We didn’t tank often. Only a few times over 23 years, but when we did, our fans appreciated it. And it got us to where we could improve, trade up to get Luka and improve our team. The nba should worry more about fan experience than tanking. It should worry more about pricing fans out of games than tanking. You know who cares the least about tanking , a parent who cant afford to bring their 3 kids to a game and buy their kids a jersey of their fave player Tanking isn’t the issue. Affordability and quality of game presentation are

@HIGHliburton @bkravitz A lot. Last game before the all star break, fabricated injuries for the entire starting 5 plus McConnell from th night before. It’s a problem, they homestly should have been fined more.

Find it highly ironic that the Pacers, a franchise that has studiously resisted the temptation to tank (even when it wasn’t in their best interest, now they’re getting penalized.

@JMurphy91689355 @bkravitz Missing the point. People buy ticket in advance. People pay to see certain players. Fabricating injuries for those players taints the game. I get why they do it, but there needs to be repercussions. Not good when players throw games, even worse when franchises do.

@dhack1234 @bkravitz The level of the Pacers play hasn't affected their attendance at home and not that I can see much on the road. The Knicks and OKC road games with the Pacers were well attended. The Pacers won both too.

While the Utah jazz are benching their top three players in the fourth quarter of a close game, the Pacers are playing all their top guys down the stretch and in overtime. If the Pacers are tanking, they’re doing it really subtly.
