The divorce that's needed is not between working people in red states and working people in blue states. What we desperately need is movements UNITING working people across America AGAINST the capitalist class and both their political parties. Both the Democratic and Republican parties represent the anti-worker warmongering agenda of the billionaires and multimillionaires. Democrats hold the Governor's mansion and majorities in both Houses of the Washington State Legislature. It is Democrats who have instigated billions of dollars in cut to social services in this state. Washington State Democrats have also presided over the nation's second-most (till recently, the most) regressive taxation rate, second only to the red state of Florida. In the very blue state of California, the Governor is a Democrat, and the Democratic Party has a super-majority or a near-super-majority in both Houses. These Democrats have crushed efforts for single-payer, universal healthcare THREE times. Congressional Democrats have refused to do anything meaningful to fight and defeat Trump's ICE terror, assault on Medicare and Medicaid, or the imperialist wars. In fact, a majority of Democrats in the U.S. House and Senate both voted in December to give Trump over $900 billion for war. My opponent, genocidal Democrat Adam Smith, was one of them. This is why at the same time that Trump's approval ratings are at an all-time low, so are those of the Democratic Party.
