Right, I'm with you. I sit on a fair bit of cash myself to be used when something becomes cheap and to set up auto monthly DCA deposits. I'm not challenging that, I'm challenging Mendoza's thought process of trying to time the market, which as I said, is statistically a losing strategy compared to monthly DCAing. I want people to get wealthier.

We’re being led by horrific, spiteful morons. Labour has announced that, from April 2027, interest on cash in Stocks and Shares ISAs will be taxed at 22%, and under-65s will only be able to put £12,000 a year in a cash Isa, down from £20,000.

@ScarySupernova @ReemAmirIbrahim Ok, imagine I buy a stock and double my money and then decide to sell my holdings. Why should I be taxed on the cash holdings whilst looking for my next opportunity?

@ReemAmirIbrahim Reem, why are you keeping cash in a stocks and shares ISA. You're young, it should all be in equities.

@PatrickChristys It’s a pointless policy as anyone in an S&S ISS rarely sits in cash for any meaningful period of time, just bad PR once again

If immigration is causing every problem in Britain, why are countries with very different immigration levels experiencing many of the same problems?

@Edewezy @linmeitalks Those who earn over certain thresholds and are in demand jobs should stay, the rest should go home. Agree the benefits system needs a massive overhaul as well.

@faultycontainer @linmeitalks Even if the aim is to reduce more people coming over, what about those already here? Legal migrants are working and contributing, not relying on public funds. Wouldn’t reforming the benefits system be a more direct solution than penalising people who are already in the system?

Then they should remain on working visas. Why should they have access to citizenship or public services. How is it anything to do with slavery?? They’ll continue to work and support themselves without ever being able to rely on welfare.
LISTENER (I no speak again)@CHIKADIBIA___

@linmeitalks You are extremely misinformed, these are normal legal migrants that come in here to work.. It is modern Slavery to change from an original 5year route to 10years route,so any Government can change the 10years to 20years. Most of them don't want even public funds

@CHIKADIBIA___ @linmeitalks The sponsorship system has been in place for decades & wasn't an issue until the Boriswave. Welfare comes in as soon as the Boriswave get ILR.Most are on lower incomes & will qualify for most types of welfare such as child benefit and universal credit (even if they are working)

@linmeitalks Yes It's slavery. Would you like to work for the same company for 15 years? Would you like to work for a sponsorship for 15 years? These people are not robots. These people don't ask for any benefits. They need an environment to work freely. This proposal is inhumane and unfair

@Edewezy @linmeitalks There’s just too many legal migrants here, sadly it’s changing the fabric of society and not for the better. At least with the changes to ILR it would stop more people coming over. This is what the majority want.

I think you’re misinformed about how this works. People on work visas do not have access to public funds, despite paying taxes that help fund the British economy. Granting them ILR or citizenship does not stop them from contributing to the system. These are working people who came here legally, work hard, and will continue to pay into the system. So it is unfair to tell legal migrants who have followed the rules, paid thousands in taxes, paid thousands in visa fees, visa renewals and IHS charges to access the NHS, that they must now wait 10/15 years before they can settle permanently. If you want to talk about pressure on public funds, then direct your argument toward refugees and those arriving illegally by boat, many of whom gain access to public funds and housing support immediately without ever having contributed to the system. The issue here is simple punishing legal, tax paying migrants already contributing to the system with longer settlement routes does not fix the real problem. It only penalises people who are already contributing.

@faultycontainer @Darrenscot38022 @ScottGShore Your stance has changed, you didn’t go in there to protect women. You called it illegal earlier.., are you glad you went and displaced or not? It’s never about the ppl it’s always about oil/minerals/ego. Policy&trade can help protect ppl, bombs don’t

Stop giving benefits to illegal immigrants - and watch the boats stop within a week. “They come because it’s safe” No Susan, they come through lots of safe places - they come to scavenge on our generosity Restore Britain 🇬🇧

Maybe if migrants have worked here for over 10 years they should be then able to pay £50pm, which will allow them to use basic elements of the NHS, apply for welfare for a set period of time if they lose their job, but no social housing etc Like a migrant insurance for access to British public services, but no millions should not be able to access public services just because.
