@2ITB_Buffalo Approach this next period as the first period of game 5. Assert, at least until things change. Need to stay in the right mindset
English

@NathanGerbe14 Will never forget Gerbe's spinorama goal that clinched the last playoff birth.
English

@PierreVLeBrun Playoff format needs to align with the schedule format. Teams play more in-division games. Leave the playoffs alone unless the schedule format changes.
English

@hasek_dominik Mr. Hasek, it seemed like goalie pads and the current use of them changed around 2000. I don't remember you having pads that would always be facing the shooter. How do you think that change has effected how goalies play today?

Last Friday in Buffalo was the premiere of the (documentary) film "Always The Goalie". I want to thank everyone who was involved in it. First of all, the Buffalo Sabres and Dave & Adams. And to those featured in the film. Toโฆ youtu.be/Vy9U5ULr250?siโฆ

@vzmercogliano Good coverage here, Vince. New follow. Looking forward to reading more of your posts.

An important point to clarify here: Panarin (more specifically, his agent) talked to several teams, including some into the final hours, in an effort to negotiate and decide where he wanted to go. He ultimately chose the Kings and told #NYR to make the trade with them, but there were other teams he considered right up until the end. LA's ability to extend him gave them an advantage over some of the others we reported in recent days.
Vince Z. Mercogliano@vzmercogliano
Ultimately, LA was the team Panarin picked and the only one he green-lighted the #NYR to make a deal with, according to a source. That's how most expected it would go. Greentree was ranked No. 134 on @coreypronman's recent U-23 list and the No. 1 LA prospect not yet in the NHL.
English

@StLouisBlues And maybe a minute later he comes through the crease. I noticed this too.

@firewagon @NCBillsfan88 @ByMHarrington Thanks Rob, it was awesome talking hockey with you! Go Sabres!!
English

One from the #Sabres notes today I had no idea on: Alex Lyon has won 8 straight. He gets to 9 and he ties franchise record set by Gerry Desjardins in 1976-77.
Also at 8: Sauve (79-80), Edwards (81-82), Miller (06-07 and 09-10), Hutton (18-19).
English

@oravec71937 @NCBillsfan88 @ByMHarrington But even "unnecessary contact" is ambiguous (necessary for what?). Best might be "contact that impedes an opposing player, with or without the puck".
English

@oravec71937 @NCBillsfan88 @ByMHarrington Thank you, John. I went to the tables referred to in the rule, and think I found the one that says you are right. Yes, they should remove the word "interference" from the and replace it, maybe with the "unnecessary contact" wording that appears in the table.

English

@oravec71937 @NCBillsfan88 @ByMHarrington 69.4 is about interference on the goalie, not by the goalie
English

@NCBillsfan88 @ByMHarrington Rule 69.4 and it's the right call, a goalkeeper can not deliberately interfere with a attacking player outside the crease who is attempting to play the puck or an opponent
English

@scottcwheeler I would love to see the picture the camera person in the corner got of Helenius coming straight to him.
English

@rachelmlenzi Hi Rachel. Dahlin would also be on this list, unless maybe its a list of multi 5-pt games.

@SabresProspects Merry Christmas, Kris. Thank you for everything you do for Sabres Fandom.

@SabresProspects Vet presence is critical. One key difference this year is Sammy filling that role the way it was hoped. If Danforth had been healthy so far, we would be seeing him as a vet to push the young talent. Seeing Norris now too. Trading Tuch won't empty the vet cupboard.
English

Jarmo's job is to get those hands to shake. BUF has youth coming and key RFAs to pay, but you need a broad vet presence to lead/guide (and end a drought). Tuch has a valid argument to aim high - the price of middle ground has increased. Move fast and offer close to your ceiling.
JJ@Sabrefan9988
@SabresProspects Iโm really torn right now about what do with Tuch. One on hand heโs an important player but on the other hand do we want to pay a 30 year old 11 million when we have young players like Rosen and Helenius tearing up the AHL? Thatโs not counting Kulich who is out too.
English

@scottcwheeler What does that mean for the centre they lined up with today (Beaudoin)?
