@fpc@ClarkeMicah@SteveTransform@kierstarmer Tell me then.
I don’t believe it was anything particular that Dr Nutt said that upset Peter Hitchens, I feel it was merely the fact that Nutt came prepared with a science backed hypothesis, and Hitchens had no way to debate it other
Here's @kierstarmer posing for a photo-op surrounded by barrels of whiskey
Starmer supports criminalisation of people who use other drugs - but is happy to promote this particularly deadly one
There are 21,000 alcohol-related deaths a year in England alone
@BUNF28@ClarkeMicah@SteveTransform@kierstarmer I can tell you what's wrong, but only a disingenuous drug advocate needs telling. I did ask you a question first and you didn't respond. Why waste both our times?
@fpc@ClarkeMicah@SteveTransform@kierstarmer So, just to clarify, you can’t tell me what’s wrong with comparing a recreational activity with 1 serious adverse event every 350 exposures, to a recreational activity with 1 serious adverse event every 10000 exposures?
@BUNF28@ClarkeMicah@SteveTransform@kierstarmer I know, there are several lengthy blog posts too. If you see nothing wrong with that comparison then you're a waste of time. Again, what do you think Nutt has said that's "rattled him" and not been properly responded to?
@BUNF28@ClarkeMicah@SteveTransform@kierstarmer That's David Nutt who compares taking dangerous drugs to horse riding. What do you think Nutt has said that's "rattled him" and not been properly responded to?
@fpc@ClarkeMicah@SteveTransform@kierstarmer He’s ignored because he goes on like a crank. David Nutt knows far more about substance use than Hitchens and rattled him so hard that pete still holds a grudge now
@SteveTransform@kierstarmer 25 years, (apparently - AI figured) £250,000+ in donations, last 6 years ~£2 million total income, and, from what I can see, you've not even touched South Korea and swept aside Japan by calling it 'cultural'.
@SteveTransform@kierstarmer And yet you think you & your ideas won't get taken advantage of by similar greedy lobbies. Or do you know you'll likely be used as a stepping stone but don't mind b/c greedy corps will give you a luxury lifestyle while the poor families have to deal w/ legal druggie neighbours?
@fightclub247 Must be frustrating for Hughie. Those inside boxing know to avoid him, and those outside boxing don't rate him. He's never looked in trouble in over 30 fights, including against good world champions, even while full of serious illnesses &injuries. Arguably beat Parker & Povetkin.
I’ve mentioned this a few times, but I really would like to see Moses Itauma vs Hughie Fury. I think it’s a perfect fight at this stage for Moses. He would be fighting a Fury and a tall, rangy fighter who can move.
Hughie’s been asking for a big fight. He will want an Andy Ruiz fight, but if that can’t happen, I think this is a great fight to put on in Manchester or London.

Come and hear me present/rant/discuss why the war on drugs is such a disaster, &how we can do so much better, including all things legalisation/regulation!
This Wednesday - I'll be kicking off a season of HOT TAKES at the Love Shack in Shoreditch, London:

@fpc Do I need to draw you a picture, Peter?! Just because I was able to decipher your mess doesn't mean it wasn't a mess. Your 'linguistic car crash' failed *linguistically*, no matter how hard you try to spin the wreckage.
@fpc I didn't misinterpret anything. I understood your intent perfectly. It's your execution that failed. You can't blame the reader for a 'linguistic car crash' when you were the one who lost control of the car!
@fpc@SteveTransform I've just re-read this thread and realised you tried so hard to be clever there that you accidentally claimed you conceded the argument before it started. What a linguistic car crash! Maybe stick to the insults. The logic isn't quite landing.
@JSHbabble@ClarkeMicah Why? What difference would it make? Perhaps you didn't respond properly because you wouldn't be so smug if your innocent family were bombed and brushed off as some sort of 'justified collateral damage'.
@DuquetteReal@AngloIrsh_Rebel@ClarkeMicah@DailyMail It isn't established enough to be dismissed as a myth. Don't be surprised if continually doping yourself up with a drug linked to causing madness ultimately results in some form of permanent damage to your mind.
@fpc@AngloIrsh_Rebel@ClarkeMicah@DailyMail Irreversible cognitive damage? Lol...No.. That's a myth. Just stop smoking for a few days. You'll be back at baseline if you're struggling with it. Also what is "mind altering drug" even supposed to mean? It's not even a real class of drugs lol. Caffeine, alcohol alter the mind.
Marijuana, the supposedly ‘peaceful drug’ strikes again: Drug dealer who stamped mother to death in random street attack jailed dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1… via @DailyMail
@DuquetteReal@AngloIrsh_Rebel@ClarkeMicah@DailyMail How do you know for certain? The research is scanty but the association is there. It would hardly be surprising if the use of a murky mind altering drug led to irreversible cognitive damage.
@fpc@AngloIrsh_Rebel@ClarkeMicah@DailyMail In heavy users, but is reversible with abstinence and a nominal change by maybe 1 point. Keep in mind baseline iq is not impacted by pot
@fpc@ClarkeMicah@DailyMail And gangland killers take it to numb themselves before killing someone.
Both are possible.
Many people of low IQ are also not capable of empathy. The way he reacted to the possibility of him causing more harm in the crash in the wider interview points to low iq.
