The Coalition to Stop Maternal Mortality due to Unsafe Abortion (@CSMMUA_) convened its Quarter One meetingto strengthen coordination and sharpen advocacy efforts aimed at advancing women’s health and rights in Uganda. The meeting brought together coalition members to plan strategic advocacy engagements around Supreme Court Constitutional Appeal No. 1 of 2026 (arising from Petition 10), a case with significant implications for access to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR). Discussions also focused on identifying high-impact, time-sensitive priorities to inform the coalition’s 2026 annual work plan, which will later be presented to the Steering Committee for consideration and guidance. #SafeAndLegalCare

Since the #AHA23 came into force, HRAPF has documented 983 cases targeting people based on their SOGIE-based which affected 1,323 individuals. This data forms a critical part of the legal and human rights record in Uganda.
