Todd Bowles said Bucs had seven or eight players they never dreamed would be on the board at No. 15. Rueben Bain was one of those. Bowles added Bucs were zeroed in on another player they believed would be available at No. 15. Didn’t mention who.

@gregauman That’s the earliest the Bucs have selected an edge rusher since Gaines Adams in 2007. That’s a big reason why they’ve struggled to find success with edge players in the draft. So many of the best ones go early in the first round.

In talking to teams today, wouldn't surprise to see four OTs go in first 15-17 picks. Francis Mauigoa, Spencer Fano are consensus. Monroe Freeling, Kadyn Proctor have worked their way into conversation -- feet, length, prototype LT and SEC pedigree. NFC exec: 'Would have said no on Freeling in November but I can see it now. He fits the mold.' AFC exec on Proctor: 'He's the go-higher-than-you-think guy for me.'

On defense: Rayshaun Benny and Height should be higher.
On offense: Sarratt should be higher
Otherwise, very well put together. Can of course always argue about a couple players.

@gregauman If the Bucs think he's ready to hit the field and start immediately it's easier to draft him. However, Bowles has consistently given rookie pass rushers fewer snaps until he thinks they fully understand his system. That's a problem in this case.

@gregauman OTC now has the contracts listed! Rozeboom got a bit more than vet min with nearly a million guaranteed so his roster spot is pretty much secured. The others are all vet min with either no guarantee at all or a few hundred thousand guaranteed.
