AI has the potential to execute any task why I said potential because without you telling it what to do it's just a webpage, developers are paid because they know what to do and how to do, example your manager assigned your team a project and told to do what is requirement,what output he need same your doing with AI, AI is your whole team you have to manage it monitor your taks wire it as you want then you can stay in the game and the Dev's that don't use AI will stay behind. this is what I saw in my work area.

If AI can -write code -fix bugs -review PRs -deploy apps -secure systems what exactly are developers getting paid for?

@boxmining to do vibe coding you need to know a good amount of coding and system knowledge nothing can't be built by one click, with an example I say if AI is a car then we need to know how to drive how to take turns how to give directions...

use claude.ai it give good UI design only when you tell the correct prompt, where you know what you want in design, and if not, then it also gives its default UI design that also good. The major difference from Claude and other AI is that you don't have to bang your head to get out of a decent design. Claude AI made it easy

do you think understanding fundamentals still matters when ai can generate working code in seconds?

you can't trust AI that it will give the right code all the time if you niglate any small thing to check the changes of bugs in your code are more than 50% and it hallucinate so much it takes time to give correct solution and even forget to do something until you pinpoint it, this happen with me in long conversation.
