@TanelPoder 1000 years ago, I made the decision to never ever use :x as I saw so many people screw files with this exit option, never mind using :X :w :q always single, always explicit. I rarely :wq And it's so embedded in my muscle memory that change is impossible

For the UX engineers out there - anyone old (middle-aged) enough to remember that vi encrypts your entire file instead of saving it when issuing :X instead of :x? Relevant discussion at HN last year: news.ycombinator.com/item?id=342884… (yes, I have encrypted some config files in the past)
