Liverpool could be without all eight of their players who are involved at the World Cup for the pre-season tour to USA in late July, with the usual club policy of allowing three weeks off after the end of participation at a summer international tournament [@IanDoyleSport]

Liverpool signed Florian Wirtz from RB Leipzig, who flopped badly, and now they seem to think one potential flop is not enough, so they want to add another in Yan Diomande. It’s unbelievable. Bundesliga flops over the years include Werner, Havertz, Hincapié, Sancho, and Konaté.

Liverpool knew they had to make a gesture towards Real Madrid while signing Victor Muñoz. As a result, Real Madrid retain a buy-back clause for the end of his first season at Liverpool. [@diarioas] ✍️

I'd offer Bournemouth Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones for Alex Scott. I think it's a good deal for Bournemouth, Liverpool and the players involved. Anyone against that idea???

Diomande would be an exceptional signing under Iraola. He is outstanding off the ball as well as on it He is the perfect Iraola winger. Think of prime Mane under Klopp. TBH i don't care how much he costs pay it. Diomande, Abe and Ngumoha sorts out the wing positions for the next decade👍

Alisson is the most disrespected footballer of all time after Salah. 92nd on the greatest ever LFC players is an absolute joke. Who did this list 🫢 I'm 37 years supporting LFC & he is comfortably the best goalkeeper I've seen. His signing was the real game changer. He is arguably the greatest goalkeeper of all time definitely the best LFC keeper. I'd have him in the top 10. And absolutely delighted he looks like staying, id give him another 3 year contract. 33 is young for a keeper👍

@50shadesofLizie Whilst I agree to an extent, who out there that is currently available could we have got, who has won things etc. I am excited by Iraola, knows the league, plays an exciting brand of football. Yes it’s a gamble and a big step up, hopefully they back him with at least 6 signings.

With Iraola we have to lower our expectations. This is a manager who has never won anything. I'm not entirely confident with this appointment because I believe Liverpool is not a development project for unproven managers. …All I'm saying is I hope we are all ready to give him time?

I am so unbelievably bored of hearing this is a 'risk' with Iraola. So many 'experts' out there. Every managerial appointment has its risks, just be excited about a new era! Judge him at the time.

@BenBocsak Liverpool play mostly against low blocks, there is rarely space to run in behind. Barcola is ridiculously overhyped by some in the LFC fanbase 👍

Given how direct Andoni Iraola likes to play, I think Bradley Barcola would now be the perfect fit for Liverpool (if Iraola takes over). One of the best attackers at running in behind and stretching defences.
Bence Bocsák@BenBocsak

🇫🇷 One of Bradley Barcola’s best qualities is his ability to stretch defences. He’s constantly making vertical runs and trying to run behind the opposition’s defensive line. 📈 The numbers back this up as well. He ranks in the 99th percentile for received through balls (0.63 per 90) and in the 98th percentile for progressive receptions (8.21 per 90). ⚡️ He’s a decent dribbler in one vs one situations, very quick feet and good ball manipulation - sometimes he can be physically bullied in tight situations. Completes 46% of his dribble attempts across his career. He is a good progressive player and he’s extremely fast. When he’s in full flow he’s really hard to stop. On top of that he loves to go down the byline and supply passes/cut-backs into the box. ✅ He ticks three things Liverpool desperately need this season: - Someone who can stretch the defence and make consistent vertical runs to receive the ball. - A winger who will look to create chances for his teammates and go down the byline. - Good at pressing in the final third (ranks top five in Ligue 1 for possessions won in the final third (1.20 per 90). I think he would be a nice upgrade on Gakpo in the LW position. I still think Liverpool will need to sign an RW - (maybe Diomande) to replace Salah. 🦶However, it’s interesting to note Barcola has played 2841 minutes of his senior career as an RW according to Wyscout and has averaged 0.63 goal contributions from 0.58 xA + xG. So, he could be an option on the right as well. Ideally thought you’d sign a player who predominantly plays as an RW for that spot though. 📊 And lastly he’s a player who has averaged 0.76 G/As per 90 minutes in 148 games for PSG. That’s very impressive. Can’t look beyond those numbers and think that’s not someone who would instantly upgrade Liverpool. Especially for someone who is only 23-years-old.

@Corballyred We have no chance of getting Enrique out of PSG So take him out of your narrative. Whilst I agree that Iraola is a gamble, not proven at this level. Who else is currently available 🤷‍♂️

My thoughts on potential Iraola appointment (avoid if you want the superfan nonsense😂) 👇 I like the style of football style he plays and like the stories how intense his training is from the likes of Semenyo. But I am slightly concerned.... He has had 1 real break out season in management, at Bournemouth he has basically maintained Howe trajectory, Bournemouth last 4 finishes, 15th, 12th, 9th and 6th. No manager in last 20 years has come from a smaller Premier League to a big Premier League club and succeeded, Frank, Moyes, Potter, Lambert and even Rodgers at LFC. How many low blocks has Iraola faced with Bournemouth??? Only a few weeks ago he nearly became new Palace manager. And do ye really trust Richard Hughes judgement because I don't. Now wait as I run for cover 🏃 😂

Arsenal are the ONLY club in Premier League history to win the league and still have the entire football world act like it never happened. No congratulations. No praise. No respect. Just silence. The most ghosted title in Premier League history. Even neutral fans looked at that trophy lift and said “fair enough … anyway.”

Former PGMOL chief and ex-FIFA referee, Keith Hackett: 🗣 "There is a problem with the timing of our games. The average actual playing time is around 52 minutes. With this in mind, every action should be taken to avoid unnecessary stops that impact the flow of the game. Mo Salah and Bernardo Silva could have been celebrated after full-time." Wayne Rooney: 🗣 "I’ve seen a few things this season, and it just makes me sad that these things are happening in football."
