Question for a payments expert. What I pay for something by card in Spain, the reader offers me the choice to pay in euros or dollars. Obviously dollars are removed from my account. And the cafe gets euros. So what’s really going on in the transaction that requires this step?

For context, that Marathon fella ran the equivalent of - 440 x 100m. He averaged each 100m at 17 seconds. 😂 Mental.

@johnarnold Having ran at a D-1 level in college, these times are simply mind bending. We thought running sub 5 pace was something spectacular.... My PB at 5k would allow me to run with him for 5K.... Shoes, nutrition and training have fundamentally changed the sport...

@johnarnold Was thinking the same. Now I can see 1:58 or even 1:57 in the near future.

In 2025, Sabastian Sawe asked the AIU to test him as frequently as possible. He underwent 25 tests in the build-up to the Berlin Marathon, blood and urine, around 2–3 times per week, including days where he was tested twice. He maintained that same approach into 2026. Now, he has broken the Marathon World Record, clocking 1:59:30 in London. Officially the first man to go sub-2 in the marathon.
