Cool - @TMobile stole my trade in phone, and because they apparently delete all records of support calls after 6 months it was the perfect scam for the support person to tell me ‘wait 3-4 bills to see that it’s fixed’. Is this common carrier practice now?!

@marypcbuk I know a number of people suffering from exactly that who were previously motivated and excited employees. They’ve seen hits come close to them over and over again - PM on a sibling team, fully remote teammate, etc. Impossible to predict and scary!

@queenofcode very much this. I mean sure, you can't get 10k names overnight and maybe 3 months is reasonable for that but the sword of Damocles hanging over your laptop has to just destroy productivity and psychological safety

some of the Microsoft layoffs (yes, they're still ongoing) are insane. veterans with decades of experience out the door and CVPs and other senior Microsoft folk in their mentions on LinkedIn about as shocked as the people laid off. it makes no sense to me at all

@ypk @ibogost No not yet! Dinner is weirder because of kid palettes. So sometimes we cook, sometimes the kids aren’t hungry and we just do light snacks, etc.

@ibogost I order my lunch meals for the week from Shef. Cheaper than takeout but then I can just microwave an actual delicious meal I didn’t have to cook.

Met Gala as monitoring and observability solutions, a 🧵. Kim Kardashian as Datadog. Requires investment to get into. Takes active upkeep. Generally worth it, but there are gaps (and the occasional malfunction). Not an easy situation to get out of.

This was a great meet up with some awesome speakers!

My domain renewal saga is finally at an end. I spent 2.5 months, dozens of hours of calls between GoDaddy, Microsoft, and WildWestDomains and got nowhere - each insisted only the other could renew me. File an ICANN complaint though and mysteriously my domain was back in my hands!

@reshmasaujani We live only a half mile from school and two blocks from the bus stop, but there’s no sidewalk on my street… my kids have to walk on the somewhat busy road to get anywhere.
