MEET THE TEAM! Meet Tomás Murúa, one of our new Developer Advocates! Tomás was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and moved to Chile at the age of 11 thanks to his dual citizenship. He grew up switching between Portuguese and Spanish at home and at school and later added English as his working language. Tomás spent the last few years working as a consultant focused on Elasticsearch, helping companies build search and data solutions on top of the stack. Alongside the client work, he started writing technical articles and recording tutorial videos about the technology. Around the fourth article, he came across the Developer Advocate role for the first time, and it combined two things he cared about, engineering depth and working directly with other developers. It felt like a natural next step. When he saw SerpApi’s opening covering Spanish, Portuguese, and English, it was the kind of fit he had been hoping to find. It tied back to the search world he already knew and let him put all three languages to work in the same role. What he’s most looking forward to is expanding SerpApi's presence across Latin America. Outside work, Tomás is passionate about music and collects vinyl records. He also tries to keep a regular gym routine to stay balanced with all the hours at the computer and spends as much of his free time as he can with his family. At home, he shares the space with Bruce, his Samoyed.
