Two Canadian teenagers—a 15-year-old girl from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, and a 14-year-old boy from Rivers, Manitoba—were arrested this week for allegedly planning simultaneous violent attacks on their schools. The girl targeted Park View Education Centre (about 900 students) in Bridgewater, while the boy targeted Rivers Collegiate (141 students in grades 7-12). Police say the intent was to go in and murder multiple students at each location. The pair had no prior real-life connection and met online in mid-to-late February 2026, communicating mainly via Instagram and Discord. Their chats quickly turned to sharing desires for school attacks and coordinating them to happen at the same time. The FBI and Interpol detected the concerning conversation on March 13 and alerted Canadian authorities, leading to swift arrests: the boy on March 16 (pulled from a school bus) and the girl on March 17. Evidence seized from the girl’s home included handwritten detailed plans (with maps), imitation weapons (pipe bomb and assault rifle), electronic devices, and clothing with hate symbols. The girl faces conspiracy to commit murder and uttering threats; the boy faces uttering threats. No one was harmed, and investigations into possible hate crimes continue. Communities in both small towns remain shocked.
