We are in Ghana engaging strategic partners, leading buyers, & distributors to advance market access for Zimbabwean products. Our engagements are focused on practical pathways for distribution, retail placement, and long-term commercial partnerships. The discussions so far reveal clear opportunities to strengthen trade links & expand the reach of Zimbabwe’s exports across Africa #EnergisingExports @GEPAGhana @MoFA_ZW

Strong insights. Practical guidance. Real conversations. At the Afreximbank Accelerator Programme Kick-Off Week in Cairo, founders engaged in focused sessions designed to sharpen their path to scale. Dr. Lina Zalat delivered an in-depth overview of V-Lab, highlighting how venture labs support startups in building, refining, and scaling their businesses. This was followed by a candid session on investment readiness led by Dr. Ayman Ismail, unpacking what it truly takes to attract and secure investment in today’s landscape. This week, the startups are learning that Investment readiness is not accidental. It is built through strategy, clarity, and disciplined preparation. The journey continues. #AcceleratorProgramme

What if Africa stopped exporting raw cotton and started exporting finished garments at scale?

At the @worldtradeorganization #WTOMC14 in Yaoundé, Cameroon, Afreximbank President and Chairman,Dr. @GeorgeElombi outlined a clear path forward for Africa’s trade future.

Africa spends over $50 billion annually on textile imports. That value can be retained to drive jobs and industries across the continent.

Through partnerships with ARISE IIP and Africa Finance Corporation, Afreximbank is already delivering results. In Benin’s Glo-Djigbé Industrial Zone, we have shown that Africa can supply quality locally produced textiles to global brands like Nike, Zara, and H&M. This model is expanding across Cameroon, Chad, Mali, and Nigeria backed by significant investment.

The goal is to process Africa’s cotton within Africa, create 500,000 jobs by 2030, and unlock $10 billion in import substitution.

In 2025, Zimbabwe exported horticultural goods worth US$11.62 million to China, with macadamia nuts as the star product. 🌰🌰 Now that export protocols for citrus🍊, avocados🥑 and blueberries🫐 have been finalized , and with China’s zero-tariff treatment for 53 African countries including Zimbabwe taking effective on 1 May 2026, Zimbabwe’s high-quality agricultural and horticultural produce is poised to reach more Chinese consumers and conquer new markets across China. We are pleased to see Chinese buyers already visiting local farms in Zimbabwe to source premium produce. Meanwhile, ZimTrade will host the Zimbabwe-China Horticulture Buyers Engagement in Mutare in early April. 🇨🇳🤝🇿🇼 @ZimTradeAlerts @hdczim @InfoMinZW @MoFA_ZW @MoLAFWRD_Zim #ZimChina2026 #ChinaZimCooperation

They said it wouldn’t grow in Zimbabwe. Now, Ethan Hanley is building a thriving dragon fruit business in Bulawayo. Climate change is forcing farmers to adapt — and some are winning. Would you take this risk? 🔗 Link to the video in the comments
