It's interesting that the "Make America Great Again" folks seem to consistently have an image of a country that should take it's place among nations as "just another country" with no regard for ideals, principles, or values as we scramble to secure power for ourselves in an internal zero sum game. Their sense of greatness is pretty dang moribund given the history of our great country.

Not strictly true, the Trump peace plan seems to be: the US takes Ukraine's assets; Russia keeps Ukraine's land; Ukraine shuts up and does what it's told. Trump's peace plan is a plan for peace between Russia and the US, not Russia and Ukraine.

One strange thing. People keep talking about “The Trump Peace Plan”. It’s now clear there is no Trump peace plan. He wants a mineral deal. But that’s basically it. There’s not much beyond that. It’s why Starmer, Macron and the Europeans have had to step up to fill the vacuum.
