No, they hate him because his comics suck. I mean have you actually READ them? They are not good. There is a reason why sales have declined. The comic exists to push the culture war, not the idea of good storytelling.

I've noticed a chilling trend of Rippaverse fans having a complete inability to read between the lies. Eric's company is taking advantage of an extremely vulnerable demographic.

@Brimstone1117 @Weaponx1011 Image is next-level and demolishing Marvel and DC in sheer quality. DC also has a ton of great books right now. They are killing Marvel. Absolutes, Nightwing, Lobo, Batman, Deathstroke, and the new Vertigos. Devil Trigger had good writing but art was so rough.

And I read none of those. Last Marvel book I got was the last Issue of Devil's Trigger and it was OK. the new Punisher books are good, but nothing to write home about and I wouldnt recomend them to folks to read. The real ones that are shining that are flying off the shelves i have seen are Invincible books, be it floppies TPB's or Omnibus's. Battlebeast is a banger, hard to keep of the shelves as well. The big 2 arent doing as well, as folks buy more than one copy of the same book with variant covers. Same could be said for Image but my local shop always has lots of marvel but their other comics go much faster outside of the big 2.

@scott_timbrell @Weaponx1011 @mjarbo Traced isn't accurate, because that implies effort. Cliff Richards actually pasted quite a few of the 3D assets in raw, didn't even draw over them. Fumbling out the gate basically killed Rippaverse momentum.

People still watch/Read all the Disney Marvel and Disney Star Wars and that stuff is nothing but high budget fan fiction from a woman who's only use was getting coffee on the set. Yet people eat that up like its a fat man going after a cake. At least Rippa is doing something new and his own thing, not destroying 50 years worth of fandom in what is basically a revenge temper tantrum cause their bad ideas where ignored.

@RyanOttley People just have different takes on being watched. Some love streaming, some don't want to be seen doing whatever it is they're doing. Not wanting to share the process does not translate to tracing. Which while NOT you said, is a very easy interpretation to take from this.

Good question. I’m seeing more and more artists that trace models. It’s easy and it saves time. I get it. But… they don’t like to admit it. Just ask artists to show you their drawing video that most digital programs record, they won’t show you. An artist that traces, usually don’t want you to know they traced. And I for one, am not into it. I looked at anatomy to learn anatomy. I’m not perfect at it. I push poses to impossible lengths sometimes. And I like seeing other dynamic artists versions of their stylized anatomy. Drawing anatomy in a dynamic way means you have to push past the boundaries a digital model or photograph can give you. Now some artists rely on heavy referenced anatomy, that’s how they want their style, go for it! And if you’re more of a fan of that, enjoy! Me personally, I am more a fan of personal stylistic interpretations of life that an artist built from the ground up, their style they built feels authentic in their universe. The style is them. No matter what project they do, they bring their stylized world to it. And I love it.
