If Silver announced today that he’s changing the MVP/All-NBA minimum from 65 to 62 (20 games missed max), would anyone object? Just admit you made the number too high and fix it on the fly. Cade missing out on All-NBA would be outrageous.

Current NBA fans are such a slave to this kind of thinking that their response is this and not "how to we adjust the rules of the game to avoid so many missed games by players."

@dollarsanddata what i mean is yes maintenance can be expensive, but if you are at all handy theres generally very little that you are REQUIRED to spend large sums to maintain. you can always put it off, do yourself, a little here and there. can easily make your maintenance cost ~0 indefinitely

@dollarsanddata just in numbers, in texas a very high property tax state, the cost of insurance and prop tax together is so far below equivalent rent its crazy. and that rent only goes up, forever.
anti-house ppl talk about maintenance a lot and it's real, but also manageable and malleable.

Even if your rental properties do outperform the market (unlikely), when you include the "return on hassle", it's not even close.
The cost of your time, dealing with tenants, etc., is far higher than a few percentage points a year.
