Golf travel bag all packed, but left the clubs in Houston. Woke up with shoulder pain and it’s only gotten worse. Flew too close to the sun the past 2 weeks. Gotta know when to hold em, and know when to leave clubs at home because you’re washed and injured. Expected rtn: 6/22

Donald Ross had his way with me at River Oaks CC in Houston. Beautiful course w/ lightning fast greens. Doesn’t get much better than this round here. Met a generous and welcoming member yesterday at the muni… golf is a great game that’s taken me places I never thought I’d go.

@StretchZee @Evgo961 I’d agree.. don’t think he took the Ross out of it. Great routing that uses the bayou and its finger creeks to perfection. Couple holes in closer to the clubhouse may have left a thing or two on the table but overall super solid.

@Evgo961 @BillyGNippers I don’t say that lightly- it actually has some character and variety compared to other Fazio features and the property certainly does for Texas and especially Houston. With that being said, I’ll add that it was the first course I caddied at- for a few years. Great place.

Throbby jones is no longer. Sometimes you just gotta know when to hang em up. That time has come. Thank you to all my supporters and friends, it’s been real. Retired Robert will be moving in. As part of retirement, I will also be retiring the blurred/emoji face. It’s been fun but fun doesn’t last forever (too lazy to keep it going). Now that that’s out of the way. Please watch me play 5 holes yesterday. My phone died on 6 and couldn’t keep record the rest. A few notes to add about my afternoon time: - find what’s different about hole 2 driver swing vs hole 1 (topped hole 2) - I might actually be the worst putter of all time but I’m working on it. - sand shot on 5 was about 3” away from sniping the hole.
