@PikminGuts92 @Wario64 Windows 10 is no longer supported by Microsoft so this isn't surprising. There might be a mod or something down the line, or you might be able to run comparability mode, but ultimately its unsupported OS so experience will vary.

@WindowsLatest Just move to CachyOS and you get all the RAM space to do other things and game at the same time, no reason Windows needs to use 40% of your RAM

Microsoft says 32GB of RAM is the “no-worries” upgrade for Windows 11 gaming According to Microsoft's marketing material, for most players, 16GB RAM is a practical starting point. Microsoft calls 16GB RAM a new baseline, but moving to 32GB RAM helps if you run Discord, browsers, or streaming tools alongside your games. In Microsoft's words, "16GB RAM is the baseline; 32GB is the “no worries” upgrade." "That extra memory also gives newer titles more breathing room as memory demands continue to rise," the company said. What do you think? Do you really need 32GB RAM or more for the best experience on Windows 11?

@JasonKieffer1 @shinjix2 @SmashJT I agree but unfortunately the reality is most people are either not bothered enough to make a difference, or straight up just addicted to dopamine so they'll pay anything to have it. People are also heavily subjected to FOMO so seeing a game you didn't buy makes you want it.

Digital will not be cheaper. Physical will be MORE expensive. You want to impress people, Nintendo? Cut the digital price to what your SAME margins are for physical after shipping, store cuts, and fees.

@Bloadstar1 @shinjix2 @SmashJT Yes exactly and I couldn’t possibly care less about Nintendo’s profit margins. I care what’s best for gamers and that gets prioritized over Nintendo.

So, are there enough examples to admit that gaming is a straight-male space? Clearly, games that don't appeal or have an option for straight males get less audience In this gen, there has been ZERO evidence of the opposite...devs trying to prove this wrong have all failed

@HarmanSmith64 @BoundaryBreak @aicontepig Because the format ultimate exists due to Nintendo, I have to follow their rules and options for purchasing vs pc (in general) I have alternatives. I also like not paying to play online with friends.

@HarmanSmith64 @BoundaryBreak @aicontepig I mean.... I buy steam games WAAAAAY cheaper through key shops and in general I can buy some games cheaper through other PC store fronts vs Nintendo I have to go through retailers OR just Nintendo, if which, Nintendo (if they wanted to) could pull from retailers

Being a gamer since the 90s and seeing how companies execute 10 year plans; here's how i speculate this will go: Step 1: Over Price games. Step 2: Make Digital games artificially cheaper. (We are here) Step 3: Get majority users to buy digital. Step 4: Abandon physical next generation since majority audience has been conditioned to purchase digitally. Expect cope comments like "Who needed physical anyway? Digital has been the cheaper option for awhile now" Step 5: Over Price Digital games. Step 6: Check Mate. You no longer have a free market to trade or buy or sell preowned games. And now the market value of video games is 100% in the hands on the corporations. Younger people wont even question it. It'll be a culture ingrained in their childhoods.

Nintendo announced that starting with Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, digital and physical games will have different prices: "Beginning in May 2026, and starting with preorders for Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, new Nintendo published digital titles exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2 will have an MSRP that is different from physical versions. Nintendo games offer the same experiences whether in packaged or digital format, and this change simply reflects the different costs associated with producing and distributing each format and offers players more choice in how they can buy and play Nintendo games. As always, retail partners set their own prices for physical and digital games, and pricing for each title may vary." Yoshi and the Mysterious Book is $69.99 physical & $59.99 digital. en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/de…

@Nintendeal I don't pay for Twitter (fuck calling it "x") so I couldn't type an essay but we could debate who has what rights, who has 24/7 access, who controls what, how profits could be disputed and actually be made, and so on and so on.

@Nintendeal I think the reality is: -gamecards (full game on storage)= most cost -keycards (tiny file for digital access)=moderately less but still cost more than digital -digital: cheapest (unless consider broadband cost, server maintence to maintain remote access, electricity)

@GuardiansTotem @SmashJT You do realize that owning a physical game and owning a digital game has the same amount of ownership for the end user right? All we own is a serial key that lets us access the license across the board on all platforms for over 10 years now my guy. Educate yourself.

@shinjix2 @SmashJT If game key cards were significantly cheaper than proper physical media there would probably be a lot less outrage but Nintendo doesn’t want to make less money on game sales
