@galenker I say girdle. also, I’m learning French and as an English speaker it’s so easy 😂 (except for the pronunciation—my teen laughs at me when I actually speak it 😅) no desire to learn German *because* I know too much about English

@BookishLex As a person who took German in high school in the naïve belief that, since English is a Germanic language it would be easy for an English speaker to learn, I think a lot about highly rhotic speakers pronouncing "Gödel" as "girdle."
