But it is not very popular in rural areas, even today as local people already have their own important temples and deities that they worship.

@Kumaoni__Bhasha Don't know about all of Kumaon, but every year on June 15, long queues of devotees used to form, both towards Bhowali & Khairna side, many on whom used to come via K.M.O.U. This was before commercialization of the temple post Kohli's visit. Ab isko devotion kaho ya kuch aur.

Even in the part of Kumaon that I come from this Neem Karoli syndrome is quite new and was only recently introduced. As recently as a year ago hardly anyone here knew about this man

From 2002-2007 congress in punjab and 2004-2009 congress. 2007-2017 Akali BJP and centre had again from 2014- 2019 BJP govt. So punjab already had the same centre- state govts earlier too.

BJP has added a new tadka to Punjab politics by appointing former Congress MLA and senior Sikh leader Kewal Singh Dhillon as Punjab BJP president. But is this a routine change, or BJP’s new recipe for 2027? Punjab politics is not instant noodles. It is like Amritsar's one of renowned Daba, Kesar’s paranthas and maa di dal, it needs time, trust and local flavour. BJP may be strong nationally, but Punjab is a different kitchen. The voter here asks: “Is the ghee real, or just marketing?” Will this remain an election-time tadka, or can #BJP offer Punjab voters a taste they trust? 2027 will answer.
