@bygregorr You should definitely still talk to users! In this case, I am the user bc this is based on my experience drawing my first comic

The wireframe mode thing is smart but I'm curious what happens when your exploration is wrong. Like you explore this whole storyboard flow in wireframes, get attached to it, then actual comic artists tell you they work completely differently. Do you scrap it or try to force the idea? I find the real risk isn't jumping to pixels too fast, it's falling in love with your first solution before talking to users.

Did you know Claude Design has a dedicated mode for exploring ideas, before jumping to pixels? It's called "Wireframe" As a quick example, let's look at how I could explore making an app for comic book storyboards.

@thisisgrey Absolutely with you on mess. In claude design the mess is on the right side. It's HTML so you can make a canvas with as many options as you want. For example here's me mocking up 8 versions of a portrait. We can def templatize / pave this road more though.

@Flomerboy It is awesome however, isn't the vertical conversation paradigm antithetical to visual design? What if the conversation transformed a messy board? I miss the mess. Design needs messy surfaces for us to bump into new ideas.

@__rmrf The team is digging in to usage! It's clear that it's one of the major feedback themes, thanks for letting us know!

@Flomerboy I spent all of my limits on my Max x20 account just playing with wireframes 😬

Lastly, for the most abstract and reflective design work, I still recommend a pen + paper! My favorite are MD product notebook (FKA Midori MD paper) and Muji .38mm gel pens.

As with any tool, designers face a choice - use it purely to move faster with default settings, or use it to go deeper and create higher quality work. Since Claude design is *so* flexible, it makes the latter fun and rewarding

@bryan_johnson Yeah I've seen it a few times now, all the Enneagram type fives get one shotted into AI psychosis when they discover LLM knowledge bases :) And an especially a strong fit when you have a lot of pre-existing data to insert into it.

@Flomerboy What’s the best way to set up a design system for Claude to understand? It’s struggling with our design system and I’m not sure why

🧵 My tips for getting the best results out of Claude Design! I’m on the verticals team at Anthropic which means I serve 7 different products. Claude Design makes it possible! 1. Set up your design system and your core screens. An hour of setup and refinement here is worth it

@nickbaum Are you using the MCP? In general, try to give it code instead of a screen shot. 4.7 is significantly better than 4.6 at replicating screenshots but tbh the models are not amazing at this yet.

@Flomerboy This looks awesome! Tangentially related: any tips for how to help Claude Code generate pixel perfect code from mockups? I find it takes a lot of iteration to get it to match a Figma design.

@menfemm For example, if you worked at Instagram you might want to have a pixel perfect copy of the home screen, capture screen, DMs, reels, etc so when you say “we want to rethink the home screen to focus on photos more” Claude has a head start

@sonicweapon @OdedGrober I think you could prompt Claude code to export a zip for Claude design and then drag it over in the same way. Claude design has its own filesystem, so i think it should be able to unzip and such

@OdedGrober @Flomerboy I’m curious about this too. Would be amazing to let Claude design analyze entire sites and project of yours and the let it redesign or overhaul and clean them up.
