I'll always remember Chuck Norris as the man who changed the course of dodgeball history by casting the deciding vote that allowed Average Joes to play in the championship of the Las Vegas International Dodgeball Open where they upset the heavily favored Globo Gym Purple Cobras.

We are saddened to announce our long-time third shift diesel attendant Carlos "CHUCK" Norris passed away in his sleep yesterday after death was too scared to attack him during normal hours.
Chuck was an unremarkable employee whose only disciplinary action came in 2008 when he unjammed the store ATM with a devastating roundhouse kick. He will be missed.

There are two narratives on X this morning.
1. Arabs are ticked Israel attacked South Pars gas field and U.S. didn’t stop them. Israel is yanking our chain.
(Israel says Trump approved. Trump says he didn’t. He told Israel no more and they agreed).
2. Arabs are ticked Iran keeps launching rockets at them and is warming up to U.S. and Israel.
Either way, Arabs are ticked and gas is likely to go up more in short term.

I will say that I can sort of see both sides of this. If you do have a preference for your kid, it is good to communicate it to people so they know ahead of time. And I will say that they at least communicated this as respectfully as I think you can with this.
That said, it can also kind of put people in an awkward situation, feeling like they are being pushed into a bit of a corner. Like, somehow their gifts are subpar if they don't get the kid the "right" kind of gift.
I'm good with communicating your preferences to your family, but maybe that's something you share personally instead of a one-size-fits-all email or text.
