i'm so excited to finally share what we've been working on @rhoda_ai_! taking lessons from success in LLMs, we identify autoregressive video generation as a scalable objective for training robot policies. 1/n

After operating in stealth for the last 18 months @rhoda_ai_ , we’re excited today to finally show the world what we’ve been working on. We believe we’re on a path to physical AGI with the launch of our brand new foundation model, the Direct Video Action (DVA) model.

@johncoogan @tbpn I enjoyed watching the show at some point but the blatant gpt glaze is pretty disappointing to see from you guys. Especially when I started watching hoping to see some unfiltered content.

@xydotdot imo OAI hired him so people can see that the results of vibe coding can turn into something great (job offer) and hopes that people spend more money on tokens and their product. Nothing more then marketing stunt to sell a new silicon valley dream

Sam hiring Peter Steinberger is a publicity stunt. Are you dumb enough to think Sam, a founder who took OpenAI from nonprofit to for profit, a founder who was first to push ads on GPTs, a founder who desperately wants to be the messiah who builds god-like intelligence, is hiring Peter to preserve an independent architecture that could become the most powerful OS? Be serious. If Peter's architecture has a path to becoming the “ALL OS,” it has a path to killing SaaS. That layer becomes the choke point. Whoever owns it sets the tax. Nobody with platform ambition sponsors the alternative out of kindness. They hire the person closest to it to understand it, shape it, and make sure the center of gravity ends up inside their walls. The hire is the headline -> the architecture is the prize -> monetization is the end goal. Bookmark this. Within 1 year, Peter resigns after the betrayal of this exact statement. OpenAI will take the best parts of that probable OS architecture, rebuild it under their brand, and monetize the fuck out of it.
Sam Altman@sama

Peter Steinberger is joining OpenAI to drive the next generation of personal agents. He is a genius with a lot of amazing ideas about the future of very smart agents interacting with each other to do very useful things for people. We expect this will quickly become core to our product offerings. OpenClaw will live in a foundation as an open source project that OpenAI will continue to support. The future is going to be extremely multi-agent and it's important to us to support open source as part of that.

Don’t kick your kids out at 18. Charge them $1,200/month in rent until they turn 25. Show them how the real world operates Budgeting. Accountability. Independence. But here’s the catch: Save every cent. Discreetly. Silently. Without their knowledge. Then on their 25th birthd

Anthropic had 16 AI agents build a C compiler from scratch. 100k lines, compiles the Linux kernel, $20k, 2 weeks. To put that in perspective GCC took thousands of engineers over 37 years to build. (Granted from 1987 - however) One researcher and 16 AI agents just built a compiler that passes 99% of GCC's own torture test suite, compiles FFmpeg, Redis, PostgreSQL, QEMU and runs Doom. They say they "(mostly) walked away." But that "mostly" is doing heavy lifting. No human wrote code but the researcher constantly redesigned tests, built CI pipelines when agents broke each other's work, and created workarounds when all 16 agents got stuck on the same bug. The human role didn't disappear. It shifted from writing code to engineering the environment that lets AI write code. I don’t know how you could make the point AI is hitting a wall.

Thanks for the thought-provoking piece. My main critique is that you are overemphasizing flashy but low probability events like “left-handed bacteria,” while merely giving lip service to the risk of extreme economic concentration of power, which is very real and materializing as we speak. Anthropic is reportedly raising funds at a $350B valuation, and the wealth created thus far has been concentrated into a few hundred (perhaps more like dozens) high net worth individuals / institutions. It’s looking increasingly likely to me that none of the leading AI labs will IPO until they reach valuations in the trillions, at which point retail investors will finally be able to get shares. In order for retail to get a 100x return on these investments, which was achievable for Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, and Google, the valuations of the AI labs will need to reach hundreds of trillions of dollars, meaning it’s likely too late for a more equitable redistribution of wealth. Simply put, you are currently exacerbating the problem. The consequences of this are that voters may take matters into their own hands and push for either or both 1) more aggressive / nonsensical forms of redistribution — the CA Founders’ Tax is just the beginning or 2) a drastic knee-capping of the AI industry in America, which make the CCP dominance scenario more likely. The solution is to enable retail ownership now, increasing the number of Americans with economic exposure to Anthropic and other AI labs from hundreds of people to millions.

@sailaunderscore True gap is large for most cases. however, if Susie from HR or an EM gets an email from the CEO about a candidate, it would be a no-brainer to do the CEO a favor.
