@redrumlisa All the councillors who signed are focused on supporting people in their wards, on housing repairs, overcrowding, evictions... Councillors are also responsible for managing a pension fund most of whose members do not want their money invested in supporting war crimes.

A UNISON libraries rep in Newham has been suspended after speaking at a public meeting opposing 50% cuts. Trade union reps must be free to defend members and public services. Solidarity with Connor, a UNISON Young Member and a great activist who has essentially been suspended for succesfully campaigning against planned cuts to services in his area. This is another shocking act of trade union victimisation in a Labour council which must be reversed.

Absolutely disgraceful that Newham Council has suspended a library worker and Unison steward for their participation in the Save Newham Libraries campaign. Campaigning against job losses and cuts to libraries shouldn't be a punishable offence. And for this to be happening under a Labour administration is a joke. Just like they attacked the Newham refuse workers for union organising, now they are attacking library staff. This has to stop and Connor should be reinstated immediately.
