Since 1980, Hackney has lost 10,000 council homes. Under Tory PM Thatcher’s Right to Buy scheme, many were sold off. But Labour are turning the page on Thatcherism. Our manifesto commits to one of the most ambitious council housebuilding programmes in the country.
