@KyleLeeWriter @mrbrianrowe 100% I rewatched on stream while tracking time stamps to study the story structure. She’s not in the first 30 minutes. The 2nd act, after her convo with Leo, she’s more reactive during the ICE raid—following Regina. 3rd act she shines, but not enough to call her a lead.

It's because they chose to run her as Lead Actress instead of Supporting. I think she would have an Oscar right now if they'd not tried to perform some category fraud and put her supporting performance in as a lead one. Sean Penn won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar and has more screentime than Infiniti does. And Infiniti is actually good in the movie, unlike Penn. She'd be Oscar-winner Chase Infiniti right now if they'd campaigned her correctly.

The thing is, a whole generation didn’t hate the Star Wars prequels. I was 18 when Phantom Menace came out, saw it opening night with a few friends from student res, and then rewatched it at least three or four times in the theatre over the next month or so. Pretty much everyone saw this movie (and EpII & III). Guys and girls. Nerds and casuals. Many went multiple times (the box office numbers prove this). The merch sold through the roof, every magazine featured cover stories with the cast, most casual fans thought Jar Jar was funny while the Star Wars nerds were obsessed with the tech behind the character. Girls loved Padme’s fashion while straight guys loved Portman. The online fandom was hyperactive with fan theories, fan art, etc with a very clear even split between the male/female demos. Fan and general public reaction was insanely positive. This particular scene became ICONIC. 98% of the negativity came from the professional film critics. TPM wasn’t perfect by any means but the media definitely tried to push the message that it was a disaster, Jake Lloyd sucked, and that Jar Jar was offensive and racist. This weird gaslighting that it was the fans who were negative and toxic is just current media trying to do damage control for just how negative they were at the time.

@DonpaulStephens @Shuttlecock By your logic the sequel trilogy are masterpieces because their box office results dwarf the prequels even after adjusting for inflation. Force Awakens must be the 2nd best Star Wars movie as it’s the 2nd highest grossing after inflation. SMDH 🤦

@starportkingdom @Shuttlecock Yes, people were buying it like stock, thinking it’ll grow in value like the original sequel toys. They weren’t buying it because they loved the movie. This was around the time Toy Story 2 came out with a critique of this behavior. “Toys are meant to be played with…”

@Shuttlecock To be fair, the toys released before the movie. Same with the soundtrack which had Qui-Gon's death in spoiler for a track name. I was a very young adult on release as well and remember it clearly.

@MileHighRado @OlakunleJesuka1 @AdamSchefter Yes, if it wasn’t for his story he wouldn’t be on the team. At this points he’s a brand ambassador for the Bills. They’ll find a way to keep him on the roster as long as possible, then after he retires they’ll keep in the organization for public events and such.

@fvrlit @The_Necronaut1 @SenWarren How is a 10% increase price gouging? That’s not even keeping up with inflation. Also they offer more stuff like MLB and other live sports. Personally, I don’t sub because they have nothing of interest for me—hence let the market decide.

BUT don’t buy any audiobooks or hardcovers, don’t buy any new merch, don’t watch the tv show (or at least pirate it), don’t watch the movies (or again pirate them), even buying secondhand is better than just handing her money. Just don’t financially support if you can avoid it.

My take on Harry Potter boycotting is that I think if you bought HP stuff before JK Rowling’s transphobia was revealed, that’s fine, I’m not going to make you sell your childhood books. Just dont support financially directly NOW.

VIDEO: Woman who threw speeding ticket toward Hurst Police officer brings complaint to city council @FOX4 ... HURST, Texas - A Hurst woman and the local police department are telling different sides of a story involving a traffic stop and a thrown speeding ticket. On Jan. 16, Taneisha Thompson was stopped by a Hurst police officer after allegedly speeding in a school zone. Hurst Police released body camera footage of the incident on Tuesday. In the video, an officer issues Thompson a traffic citation after a brief conversation. Thompson is seen throwing the ticket back at the officer, who then placed Thompson under arrest with the help of another officer. Officers pulled Thompson out of her car and onto the ground before arresting her. Thompson's child was present in the passenger seat of the vehicle at the time of the incident. Thompson has hired civil rights attorney Lee Merritt as she considers legal action against the Hurst Police Department. She says she suffered a black eye, a lip injury that required stitches and several bruises on her body from the incident. Thompson read a statement to reporters on Tuesday evening during a press conference before sharing her story with Hurst City Council. "I am here today because this is bigger than me—this is about all of us. It is about ensuring de-escalation, about prioritizing the safety of every citizen, so that no one else endures what I did. I am deeply grateful for all the support I have received from around the world—this is a call for justice, for humanity, and for safety. I will not be silenced," part of Thompson's statement read. Merritt answered questions during the presser. When asked about Thompson's throwing of the ticket, Merritt said: "I tell my clients, I tell the public in general, it’s not best to litigate a case on the side of the road. If you’re upset about a police encounter, hold your peace, hire an attorney, file a complaint with the police department later." He also stated: "I let the public know, just because this is the law, that you actually have every right to be rude to law enforcement. Not best practice, but you have every right to be rude." Hurst Police are standing by the officer. "Corporal Morgan acted in full accordance with the law and with our department’s policies and the department stands firmly behind his actions," Hurst Police Chief Billy Keadle said. The department conducted an investigation into the incident after Thompson filed a formal complaint claiming excessive use of force. The investigation determined the claims were unfounded. Alex del Carmen, a criminologist at Tarleton State University, viewed the footage and said the officer's actions were lawful. "What I said after reviewing the entire footage was that the woman was very disrespectful of the office during the entire exchange.  Further, that the officer, up to the point of handing the ticket to her, was very respectful, professional and showed restraint," del Carmen said. "However, when the woman threw the citation out the window, the officer had the choice of either giving her another citation for loitering, ignoring it, or asking another officer to step in. Instead, he chose to issue a verbal command for the woman to get out of the vehicle, and she refused." "At that point, the officer used physical force.  Although this was awful, it is lawful, for the woman refused to get out of the vehicle and ignored the officer’s commands."

I took a class from one of the professors at San Francisco that was a major force behind the pressure campaign to remove 8th grade algebra. She told the class that most people think learning is like a line where you make progress and learn more skills and knowledge with time and effort. But she said, looking around at us to make sure we were listening, learning is like an interconnected cloud where no one is ahead or behind anyone else. She also told us this is an important concept that she would return to throughout the semester. (She didn’t 🤷‍♀️) I despair for our public school system.

SF public schools finally ends its 12-year experiment in removing the option of taking algebra in the eighth grade in pursuit of racial equity. Every retarded left-wing nostrum that has no possibility of working gets a decade+ of runway before we have enough studies to prove that the thing that could never work didn't work. The key problem of public policy must be how to shut down this pipeline, which begins by mass defunding of corrupted academic programs and NGO's.
