Consumers aren't going anywhere and will continually have new interests that can be filled by startups. Also, consumer sentiment climbed 29% over the last two months (sca.isr.umich.edu).

Not me! Sounds like this may be the best time to build and invest in the next big consumer company. Other factors are encouraging some VCs to shift their strategy, but "VCs giving up on the idea of investing in consumer" is wrong.
