Happy New Year!! Welcome to 2026, hopefully a year that brings accountability, justice, and restoration of law and order to our great Constitutional Republic, along with lower interest rates, lower taxes, a booming economy, more prosperity, and good fortune to all of our citizens!
May God bless you and keep you and your family safe during this journey to strengthen our Republic.

I would indeed. But with clarification re "parents". Both parents US citizens? Or at least one parent a US citizen?
I think there should be a path for the latter scenario above, especially if the noncitizen parent is legally in the US, resides in and is domiciled in the US, has applied for US citizenship, and the noncitizen parent renounces the foreign citizenship once earning US citizenship.

Would you support a constitutional amendment prospectively limiting birthright citizenship to children born to U.S. citizen parents?

The Hill just posted my column on the possible need for a 28th amendment on citizenship after the Supreme Court rules in Trump v. Barbara. The combination of open borders and open-ended citizenship is an existential threat to this Republic...thehill.com/opinion/immigr…

The Trump EPA recently rescinded the 2009 Obama EPA Endangerment Finding in the single largest deregulatory action in U.S. history (over $1.3 TRILLION!). As a result, new vehicles will be $2.4k more affordable for American families.
Without apology, every day I’ll continue to pursue new ways to limit the power of my office to the best reading of the law. We will adhere strictly to the Supreme Court’s ruling in Loper Bright overturning the Chevron Doctrine.

The Democrat money machine is being executed in broad daylight...and it’s glorious to watch.
Trump drops “Somalia beware!” on Truth Social and within hours the raids are already rolling in California. Operation Never Say Die isn’t coming...it’s here, and it’s naming names. Gavin Newsom just got crowned “King of Fraud” by his own Acting U.S. Attorney, and the title fits like a crown of thorns.
Dr. Oz is moving at warp speed: 221 fake hospices shut down in Los Angeles in just 10 weeks. Newsom couldn’t kill four in four years. Now CMS is gearing up to audit all 1,800 in California and plans to bury half of them. Seniors were being robbed blind while Democrats looked the other way. Not anymore.
This isn’t random enforcement. This is surgical destruction of the entire Democrat fraud ecosystem.
Fraud Czar JD Vance is personally on the hook to deliver results. The DOJ is hitting blue-state grift rings. CMS is finally acting on 100% of fraud referrals instead of the old one-third joke. And every dollar clawed back starves the beast that’s been feeding Democrat campaigns, nonprofit voter mills, and community organizing fronts for decades.
Remember those no-bid contracts to Somali NGOs in Maine that enrolled migrants in Medicaid by day and registered Democrat voters by night...all while defrauding the system for millions? That happy little grift is dying. The barn door is slamming shut after the horses are long gone.
The $9 trillion progressive welfare state treated your tax dollars like an open bar with no bouncer. Those days are over. The punch bowl is dry. The pipeline from fake charities to ActBlue-adjacent cash is being severed at the source.
Trump didn’t just reclaim the healthcare issue...he flipped the script completely. Republicans are now the ones protecting grandma from the real predators: the fraudsters who sign seniors up for hospice they never wanted so they can bill the government and laugh all the way to the bank.
The triple threat of Vance’s Task Force, Oz’s purge, and DOJ raids is about to turn blue-state politicians into quiet little mice scurrying for cover instead of campaigning.
The Democrats’ three-legged fundraising stool...USAID, ActBlue, and endless NGO fraud...is being sawed off one leg at a time.

@Pixie1z Agree. But when I (and the vast majority of working Americans) get angry enough to leave work and family behind to protest, it will not be peaceful. We won't be getting all dressed up for nothing. The fedsurrection of J6, by comparison, will look like a Sunday picnic.

@StephenM @WideAwakeLaura When Soc Security benefits have to be reduced, and taxes further increased, due to all the fraud by Democrats, there will be hell to pay politically and real unrest. Not the manufactured astroturf version.
There is a reckoning coming.

🎯Justice Thomas Drags Birthright Citizenship Back to Its True Roots – And Exposes the Left's Anchor Baby Scam
Justice Clarence Thomas cut through decades of activist spin during Supreme Court oral arguments on April 1, 2026, in Trump v. Barbara. He forced the debate straight to first principles: the 14th Amendment's Citizenship Clause was never meant to hand out automatic American citizenship to every baby born on U.S. soil, no matter the parents' loyalty or legal status.
Solicitor General D. John Sauer laid it out plain and clear for the Court: "The Citizenship Clause was adopted just after the Civil War to grant citizenship to the newly freed slaves and their children, whose allegiance to the United States had been established by generations of domicile here. It did not grant citizenship to the children of temporary visitors or illegal aliens, who have no such allegiance."
That's the heart of it. The Clause was written to overrule the infamous Dred Scott decision and secure citizenship for freed slaves who lived here permanently and owed full allegiance to America – not to foreign powers, invaders, or birth tourists flying in for a quick passport baby.
Sauer hammered the key language: "Subject to the jurisdiction thereof" means complete political allegiance, not just being subject to our traffic laws or showing up physically. He pointed out that the text even uses "reside," which in the era of the Amendment meant domicile – a permanent home with real ties – not a temporary stay or illegal crossing.
"The newly freed slaves and their children have a relationship of domicile. They do not have a relationship to any foreign power," Sauer explained. People here for generations with true allegiance reinforce the point: jurisdiction is about loyalty, not mere presence or regulatory power. The Framers weren't handing the "priceless gift" of citizenship to anyone dropping a kid on our soil while owing primary allegiance elsewhere.
This is common sense the left has twisted for decades. Trump's executive order simply restores the original meaning – ending the abuse that rewards illegal immigration, chain migration, and birth tourism rackets, especially from countries like China. The 14th Amendment fixed a specific post-Civil War injustice for those with deep roots and undivided loyalty. It was never a blank check for open borders or foreign nationals gaming the system.
Thomas's questions pulled the focus back where it belongs: history, text, and the actual debates around the Amendment. No wonder the left is panicking. If the Court follows the Constitution instead of invented precedents, America's sovereignty gets a fighting chance again. The Framers knew what they were doing. Time to stop pretending otherwise.

@GrimmishPro @JonathanTurley Trump's EO was intended to force a USSC decision on this issue.
Whether a Constitutional amendment is necessary, remains to be seen.
If needed, then a Convention could be called to amend the Constitution, requiring approval of 34 states. 20 states have already done so.
English

@MaxEdwards1 @JonathanTurley The path to changing or repealing an Amendment is already revealed. Hint: It's not by executive order.

@JonathanTurley It would also include doubling down on border security, deportations, & removal of all benefits of illegal entry into the US (no state or federal benefits, no free medical care, go after employers who hire illegals, adopt mandatory E-Verify, eliminate foreign ownership of land).
English

@JonathanTurley This issue needs to be decided. If the decision goes against the Trump Adm's position, then the written opinion should reveal the paths available to fix the problems and protect our Republic.
In general, such would include an effort to amend the constitution.
