At the National Stabilisation Coordination Forum, Minister of Interior Security General Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail @Senfartaag highlighted the Federal Government’s progress in strengthening internal security, especially in areas recently liberated from extremist groups. He attributed these achievements to the unity between national security agencies and the Somali people who worked together to build lasting peace and stability. the minister emphasised that ongoing cooperation among security institutions is essential for sustainable stabilisation and implementing the government’s national recovery and development plans. “Security and stability are a shared responsibility, and our success lies in our unity,” the Minister stated.

Paid a courtesy visit to HE Hamza Abdi Barre, the Prime Minister; thanked him for the trust & the opportunity to serve as Director General of @mois. I outlined the Ministry’s priorities, focusing on implementing key Performance indicator to support the national stability agenda.

The Minister of Internal Security, General Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail (@Senfartaag), officially closed a training program for 120 Somali Police Force, specifically from the Darawiish Police Unit. The minister praised the graduates' dedication and resilience, noting they will help strengthen security and stability. The government prioritises developing the police to effectively maintain security, law and order, and citizen safety.

Earlier today, the Minister of Internal Security of Somalia, H.E. Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail (@Senfartaag ), met with H.E. @AmbWangYu , the Chinese Ambassador, to discuss ways to deepen security cooperation between Somalia and China. The deliberations focused on China’s strategic support for the Ministry, particularly in capacity-building, the professional development of security forces, and joint efforts to counter violent extremism. Accompanied by Director General @Moshireh , the Minister and the Ambassador reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing strategic coordination to ensure long-term national stability and regional security.

Today at General Kahiye Police Academy, the Federal Government of Somalia and @AUSSOM_ launched the 2025 Joint Stabilisation and Capacity Support Programme funded by Japan (@JapanGov). The ceremony was led by the Minister of Internal Security, H.E. Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail (@Senfartaag), together with the SRCC and Head of AUSSOM, Amb. El Hadji Ibrahima Diene, the National Security Advisor, Amb. Awes Hagi Yusuf Ahmed (@HagiAwesAhmed), the Commander of Somali Police Force, Brig. Gen. Asad Osman Abdullahi, the AUSSOM Police Commissioner, AIGP Hillary Sao Kanu, and OiC @UNSOS_, Fabio Mevoli. The programme strengthens institutional readiness, enhances capacity building and supports infrastructures development for @MoIS_FGS & @SoPoliceForce. The launch underscores the strong AU–FGS partnership, enhances coordination and cooperation and sustains international support toward the Somalia-led #peace #security #stabilisation priorities. It also reaffirms @MofaJapan_en & @_AfricanUnion commitment to support #Somalia.

The modern equipment, handed over during a ceremony held at the Haramcad headquarters, will enhance the unit’s operational capability, training, and preparedness. The unit recently completed advanced training aimed at improving security skills and counter-terrorism capabilities. The officials expressed their gratitude to the Government of Türkiye for its continued support to Somalia’s security institutions, noting that the equipment will play a significant role in strengthening security, safeguarding the country’s stability, and accelerating operations against terrorist groups.
