@wrong_speak Setting aside moral arguments, assisted suicide creates perverse incentive for the party paying your medical bills (greedy insurance, gov’t, etc.) to kill you, rather than fund more expensive treatments.

Here are the facts: the 7 states where 2/3 of Americans don't have a passport. All of them are red states: West Virginia, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. Yes, that's your home state, Scott. Married women whose married names aren't on their birth docs would face extra hurdles. Just because you don't care, doesn't mean it isn't a real issue. It took 17 years for Real ID (with similar citizenship requirements in some states) to actually be implemented in the US. Do YOU think that's because Americans are "too dumb" to figure it out? Oh and BTW, according to the SAVE ACT, most Real IDs wouldn't count.

@JamesSurowiecki It’s a legal issue. You can’t technically compel people to show receipts at a grocery store that is open to the public. Costco is a “club” and as a member you agree to subject to the receipt check. Otherwise they kick you out.

What's something you are embarrassed to admit that you learned about way too late in life? I didn't realize when something says dry clean only that it meant you're not supposed to use water and it's a process using solvents instead of water. I always just assumed it meant "drop this off at a professionals because it's expensive and you're an idiot." I just thought they cleaned and dried it. Why wouldn't I know that? Because I don't do laundry.

WOW 🚨 American reported that all these trailers on the side of the road were from trucks stopped by ICE where the drivers didn’t speak English These were all transporting agricultural products from Florida to Georgia and none of the drovers spoke English “Look at all these trailers. They shut all these drivers down because they could not speak English and confiscated all these trailers, had their tractors told, leaving it up to the Brokers or the company to come get the trailers.
