“I have effectively been chemically castrated by this drug, which was something I was told would only happen while you’re on the drug — but don’t worry, because once you stop taking it, everything will go away, everything will go back to normal. But that’s not true.” @ROSIE_PSSD

We just received a response to a freedom of information request made to Medsafe in New Zealand. There are 4 different patients in New Zealand who reported PSSD using the MedDRA code 10086208. Please consider asking the medication regulator in your country for these numbers.

SSRIs should not be used at all during pregnancy. See the comment by Annika Jansson (I know her true identity) to the petition for better FDA warnings: bit.ly/3Pp5Flv. Psychiatrist David Healy and I found that fluoxetine reduced height by 1.0 cm and weight by 1.1 kg over just 19 weeks when given to children. bit.ly/3fO7VkY. We concluded that fluoxetine in children and adolescents is unsafe and ineffective. I would expect SSRIs during pregnancy to be even more unsafe.

Very important: SSRIs should not be used at all during pregnancy. But for a start, here is a petition for better FDA warnings: t.co/y0OKHi6EA4. Open for comments until 23 March, which can be anonymous. Could be professional, or personal stories from mothers who experienced complications. See also the recent FDA panel meeting on SSRIs in pregnancy: bit.ly/3PmkJQT.

@RobSchneider The same medical community still fails to acknowledge that SSRIs can irreversibly destroy a child’s sexual function (PSSD). The @pfizer SSRI Zoloft did this to an 11-year-old girl and no one has yet been held accountable. x.com/PSSDNetwork/st…

"This sacred part of the human experience has been stolen from me." Some children will never develop normal sexual function because of antidepressants they were given at a young age. Both parents and children are not given informed consent about #PSSD.

The medical community that profited from the chemical and surgical mutilation of these children should be imprisoned and never allowed to be around children again…

@RWMaloneMD There should also be an HHS webpage for sometimes permanent Post-SSRI Sexual Dysfunction (PSSD). SSRIs a related antidepressants have been causing this neurological injury for over 5 decades and there is still no recognition in the United States. x.com/PSSDNetwork/st…

Post-SSRI Sexual Dysfunction is commonly misunderstood, even by people who experience it. The following infograph should help explain #PSSD to those who are not familiar with it.

@tr0g SSRIs can irreversibly destroy a patient's sexual function (PSSD). There isn't evidence that these drugs change the type of person that a patient taking them is attracted to, but they can permanently eliminate all feelings of sexual attraction. x.com/PSSDNetwork/st…

@Glinner Doctors aren't about to learn how conduct talk therapy sessions with patients. Psychiatric help these days means prescribing drugs, many of which can actually cause physiological damage to the genitals. It's known as Post-SSRI Sexual Dysfunction (PSSD). x.com/PSSDNetwork/st…

Antidepressants can lead to physical changes in the genitals. Dr. Ahad Waraich, through the use of ultrasounds, has detected penile scarring (fibrosis) in young men experiencing #PSSD. The penile tissue of young PSSD patients usually resembles that of an 80-year-old person.

@kenbenton1143 @AnnaRMatson @AdamUrato1 That’s not even the argument that defenders of SSRIs make. They claim that someone needs to conduct RCTs on pregnant women to determine if more warnings should be added. Do you know about this @US_FDA panel from last year? x.com/PSSDNetwork/st…

@Riley_Gaines_ The problem with child psychiatrists goes beyond supporting so-called gender-affirming care. SSRIs can irreversibly destroy a child’s sexual function (PSSD) and people aren't even being warned. The @pfizer SSRI sertraline did this to an 11-year-old girl. x.com/PSSDNetwork/st…

Up to 95% of kids with gender dysphoria resolve it naturally with time & maturity. The people & institutions profiting off their vulnerability would rather medicalize than help heal. Gender dysphoria is a mental illness & it's time it's treated as such. americafirstpolicy.com/issues/gender-…

@tperkins The @US_FDA doesn’t properly regulate other dangerous drugs, like the hair loss drug finasteride. There’s almost no political attention on telehealth companies marketing products containing this as if they’re over-the-counter drugs. See this thread I made: x.com/PSSDNetwork/st…

1/ THREAD The telehealth company $HIMS, has been in the news this past week. Hims & Hers Health, Inc. was founded by Andrew Dudum and quickly grew through creative marketing. What few realize is that more of the products $HIMs sells cause erectile dysfunction (ED) than treat it.

If the FDA will not properly regulate this dangerous drug, then Congress must act to protect women and unborn children from it. The Biden-era policy that enabled the abortion industry to adopt an "Amazon-style" model--shipping abortion drugs directly to doorsteps across America, even into states where unborn life is protected has contributed to a dramatic increase in the killing of unborn children following the overturning of Roe v. Wade, rather than the decrease many expected. I strongly support Senator @HawleyMO's efforts to uphold the rights of states, protect unborn children, and safeguard the health of mothers.
Family Research Council@FRCdc

FRC's Tony Perkins' Statement on Hawley-Harshbarger Bill to Strip Approval for Abortion Drug WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Earlier today, Sen. Josh Hawley held a press conference to highlight a bill that would circumvent the Food and Drug Administration's slow-walk of its review of its approval for the abortion drug mifepristone. If enacted, the bill--which Representative Harshbarger, a pharmacist, plans to introduce this week in the House--would withdraw approval of mifepristone, removing it from the market and would provide a private right of action for women who have been harmed by the FDA's negligence to sue for damages. Family Research Council President Tony Perkins commented on the bill: "If the FDA will not properly regulate this dangerous drug, then Congress must act to protect women and unborn children from it. I strongly support Senator Hawley's efforts to uphold the rights of states, protect unborn children, and safeguard the health of mothers," Perkins concluded. Mary Szoch, FRC's Director of the Center for Human Dignity also remarked: "Mifepristone is unlike any other drug approved by the FDA. Instead of restoring and promoting health, mifepristone was approved to kill an innocent child. Moreover, the politically motivated process that resulted in the FDA's approval of the drug failed to conduct sufficient testing to ensure the safety of those taking it. The results have been tragic. This drug leaves women alone and in pain as they face the devastating reality that what the abortionists promised was just a clump of cells is clearly their visibly recognizable dead unborn child. While enduring this trauma, women are tasked with assessing whether the excruciating pain and bleeding they are experiencing is normal or is the sign of a life-threatening emergency, and in fact, the most recent studies show that more than 10 percent of women who have used mifepristone experience a serious complication. The FDA must do better. The approval of this drug should be revoked." FRC also recently published a resource detailing mifepristone's history and the known harms it has caused: frc.org/mifepristoneti…

When you point to the declining health numbers in the U.S., many people say it’s due to better diagnostics. So I asked @AdamUrato1 if he has seen a change in his almost 30 year career. “Clearly, we are moving in the wrong direction.”

The FDA’s New “Transparency” Database You can't find, what you don't look for. Adverse Event Monitoring System (AEMS) On March 11, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced what it describes as the largest technical overhaul in its history: a unified safety database called the FDA Adverse Event Monitoring System (AEMS). According to the agency, the platform will merge multiple legacy reporting systems into one searchable dashboard covering drugs, vaccines, cosmetics, animal products, and more. Commissioner Marty Makary called the project a step toward “radical transparency.” The FDA says the new system will modernize the analysis of adverse event reports while saving taxpayers about $120 million over five years. About six million reports per year, which were previously scattered across seven databases, will eventually appear in one place. That is the official explanation.
