In Vivo Ep 34: @bryan_johnson has done a lot to bring attention to biological immortality, but scientists like @abcsoka have been working for decades to understand the roots of aging. Does the accelerated aging disease Progeria hold the key?

I do include mitochondria as part of the overall aging as meta-disease with cellular senescence as causal nexus framework. Please see here!

🔬Scientific progress depends on discovery, but also the freedom to question, debate, and examine evidence wherever it leads.
In the spirit of that ideal, I’m thrilled to announce the launch of our NIH Scientific Freedom Lecture Series, an exciting new forum aimed at advancing transparency, rigor, and open scientific inquiry.
Please join me March 20 at 2:30pm ET for our inaugural talk, titled “Viral: The Search for the Origin of COVID-19” featuring a conversation with Matt Ridley, D.Phil.
Guests can attend in person at the Masur Auditorium in NIH Building 10 or online via the NIH videocast page. bit.ly/3PsHAu5

NIH-funded researchers developed specialized immune cells, called CAR-T cells, that reduced signs of Alzheimer’s disease in mice. While still far from human use, the research suggests that this type of immunotherapy might one day help treat Alzheimer’s and other brain disorders.

@abcsoka This is intriguing, Antonei. I am looking forward to reading through your threads on this topic.

Our new Nature Communications study uncovers how serotonin counteracts dopamine's rewarding effects:
the two neuromodulators exert push-pull control over the activity of D2-MSNs, a key cell-type in the striatum, the brain's primary reward hub

New Subquantum Informational Mechanics framework (NMSI).
A radical mathematical shift in fundamental physics is introduced in the NMSI, inferring that information rather than energy or matter is the fundamental substrate of reality.
The Universe isn’t expanding and doesn’t die thermally, the vacuum is not empty, but is an active medium composed of elementary units of information called infobits which self-organize through progressive compaction onto dynamically viable structures.
The cosmic evolution is governed by optimal informational transport modeled upon a substrate called the Riemann Oscillatory Network (RON).
The radical concept treats physical fields such as EM & gravity as emergent properties of a Coherent Logical Oscillator influenced by the Riemann zeta function (ζ) that governs the organization of space, time and mass.

The multiplication technique taught in grade school may be simple, but for really big numbers, it’s too slow to be useful. Two mathematicians say that they’ve found the fastest way yet to multiply extremely large figures.

Recycling an old idea from the 1980s:
Vitamin C can slow aging
My back story:
Linus Pauling was a remarkable chemist and humanitarian, being awarded two Nobel Prizes, one for chemistry and one for peace.
A major thesis of his later research was the beneficial role of high dose vitamin C on health.
When I was on the Stanford faculty I had the chance to work with him at his institute on Page Mill Road.
We published a paper entitled, "Bicyclic ring formation is not necessary for the (auto)oxidation of ascorbic acid" (a real page turner, I know)
Fast forward and we have this paper showing one of the worst aging biologies, iron based free radical damage,
or what I call 'you are beginning to rust, you old man,' can be stopped with vitamin C.
Vitamin C inhibits ACSL4 to alleviate ferro-aging in primates sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
