I’m so excited about Jonathan’s new role @ccef It’s bitter sweet. @jonathanholmes has become a dear friend, a mentor, and by far the best boss I’ve ever had. He is the best that biblical counseling has to offer and it shows.

Here are the instructions for what I did that fixed it for me. “Large documents with excessive, unaccepted tracked changes overwhelm Word’s memory, causing it to freeze or crash, especially with tables.   Key Solutions to Prevent Crashes: •Accept/Reject Changes: Go to the Review tab and choose Accept All Changes and Stop Tracking to clear the document's history. •Use Simple Markup: Switch from "All Markup" to "Simple Markup" in the tracking group to improve performance while still tracking.

Has anyone else had issues with word crashing randomly with larger documents ? I'm working on a manuscript (30-35k) and when I write, at times it just crashes out and I can lose 100-200 words if I Didn't immediately save it.

@joehussung Wait! That wasn’t it. It had to do with something else with Word. Let me think on it today and see if I can remember. I’ll reply later.

@joehussung I have had something like that, yes! Luckily, man auto saves periodically. I have noticed that when I run Grammarly on a large document AND I’m running Zotero, Word gets really upset and sometimes quits on me.

Yes! Mine was doing that with my dissertation. First of all, I have mine automatically save to the cloud or google so I never lose anything. I think it actually had to do with Zotero. If you turn the automatic citation update off, I think that was what solved my problem. It was a while ago so I’m trying to remember. Also, make sure you have the latest update.

Every time I post about sabbaticals, the challenges of pastoral ministry, or the the reality of pastoral burnout I get comments like this. Every time. And, this is a great example of the kind of pressure that leads to burnout.
