@originalish @HarrisonHighto2 Yes, they have reservations. Disney is limiting the ppl coming in to wonder or use the quick service. Also I promise 100% of hotel managers would agree that hotel lobbies are not free access to the public 🤣

@RealHWTweets @HarrisonHighto2 Lots of people use hotel bars and restaurants without actually staying there. It's actually extremely common. Paying for a room doesn't mean you get exclusive access to the lobby and restaurants. Disney should be trying to make things less restricted at their resort.

Yes. Most resorts in the world have these services, but you would still need to be a guest of the resort to utilize them. A number of non-guests using these services extend the wait times for paying guests, who are paying a premium to be there. That’s actually creating a bad guest experience, not the other way around. Would you walk into the Four Seasons, get a coffee, and expect to be able to hang out all day? Of course not. It’s pretty unique that Disney allows this behavior during the slow times.

@RealHWTweets @HarrisonHighto2 Because resorts have Quick Service dining, shops, and entertainment available. Up until a few years ago you can drive up and park at any resort and just explore. Being more restrictive is bad for guest experience, and a sign of desperately nickel and diming their customers.

You see it as “I buy a drink and quietly read my book” Disney sees it as “our resort is at 90% capacity (or more). These guests are paying a premium to be here and the freeloaders are taking advantage of our limited space, staffing and resources.” It’s not a hard business decision to limit the resort access to paying guests only (like most hotels in the world do.) Also I say this as a local who would never pay the prices these guests are paying. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@MattWalshBlog The amount of people defending airlines while also declaring the extra precautions they take (AirTags) is delusional. Airlines charge a premium for check bags and should have to refund the charge every time your bags don’t arrive with you.

By the way, after we missed our connection we had to go to the baggage claim office to see about our bags. Lady at the desk doesn't look up from her phone for the firs 3 minutes of the conversation. When she finally vaguely pays attention, she says the bags made the flight we missed (somehow) and so there's nothing she can do. We have to call the 800 number. We call the 800 number on our drive and they tell us that actually our bags were at the airport we just left. The lady at the desk didn't actually check. The service at these airports is so unfathomably shitty. You're paying top dollar to be treated like dirt by employees who can't even pretend to care at all.

Flight delayed on tarmac. Missed our connection. Based on the other flights available, which were also delayed, and the fact that taking a flight tomorrow would require getting back into a security line stretching seemingly for miles, we decided to get a car and drive five hours to our destination. That’s how bad air travel is right now. Driving is faster. Air travel is awful in this country. People don’t realize just how much it sucks unless they have to do it a lot. It’s not just TSA. Flight delays. Air traffic control issues. Service is even worse than usual. Every airport is crowded and slow and worn down and dirty. Everyone brings their dogs. The term “service animal” doesn’t mean anything anymore. Air travel used to be luxurious. People used to wear suits. Working for an airline was prestigious. The employees took it seriously. It sucks now. It’s terrible. This is the kind of thing our leaders should be fixing. Because the most frustrating thing is that it is so eminently fixable. If only anyone bothered to try.

When I was younger, I never heard about anybody going to therapy unless they were a war veteran or victim of some horrific crime. And people were saner and better regulated back then. I'm not convinced modern therapy helps most people. The opposite is possible.

Almost to drive home this point, someone replied this to me, then blocked me, and tweeted about how people are “too sensitive” because I said losing a baby is equally devastating no matter at 5 weeks or 8 weeks

I had to learn what a chemical pregnancy was because I had one! And I still have to hear people (out of ignorance, not malice) tell me it wasn’t a “real” pregnancy. It’s hard to remember that so many other people never have the grief or loss that I carry with me every day.

One thing I don’t think Disney has really considered, is that the “Disney Adult” is mostly a Millennial phenomenon. But if we don’t take our kids, there’s no nostalgia factor that papers over some of the bigger problems at the parks. My kids liked the Slinky Dog Dash and my daughter loved the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, but not enough for me to shell out $400 for them to do it again, even the next time we’re at the parks.

Caveat: Not a theme park or cruise person, but my married son & his fam are. My sense is that in terms of next generation in the US, Universal parks are winning - once kids get to be pre-teens, Disney parks have less appeal than Universal, I think. But you're right about the cruises. I think the cruise business is doing *a lot* for Disney's bottom line.

@tksentinel @emzanotti Yep and that’s Pixer’s best opening weekend numbers since 2017. Elio verges on not making sense since Disney finally started listening to parents. It’s okay to admit Disney has struggled in recent years with movies. Silly thing to try and argue about.

@BenjaminDEKR The front desk is the brains of the hotel and is typically the only department that works 24/7. Fire at the hotel? The front desk is the coordinating with officials. There’s rarely a situation at the hotel that does not involve the front desk. A lot of behind the scenes work.

Like by this reasoning did John the Baptist commit a sin when he leapt in the womb during the visitation?

Interesting idea. Something has to give starting with the cities being held accountable on how they’re spending our money. I’m currently doing repair work from Hurricane Milton (which caused three of my grand oaks to uproot). @CityofTampa has sent out the “forestry department” multiple times to ensure we didn’t remove the trees. One check in I understand. Multiple trips? Why am I paying this person’s salary?

Florida became a magnet for new residents over the past few years. Overdeveloping and an open door policy has consequences in our elections. We saw this yesterday. I'm going to say something very controversial that will get push back. If we vote to end property taxes, the magnet will grow in intensity and draw millions more to my state. We should really be considering adding a legacy clause to ending property taxes that only extends to Residents who have been here for 20 years and with Florida being their primary residence. We obviously need relief, but we need to consider the consequences and talk about real long-term solutions, not just quick fixes.

I was pretty much done with him over the Candice stuff and now I think I’m completely done with him. This is disingenuous and though it doesn’t surprise me given he is a Catholic, he could have left it alone completely.

It’s pretty obvious that his testimony left his normal sphere. I’m sure her story is beautiful, he should let her tell it or find a more respectful tone for his wife. The overall message was lost. That’s actually a huge misconception. You would be hard pressed too find a priest or nun who wouldn’t share their “Yes” story. I don’t think I’ve attended a women’s group or Bible study session where someone didn’t share their faith journey. It’s okay if you’re not around a lot of practicing Catholics or not well educated on them. Could Michael Knowles have been nicer? Yes. But there is a generation of young men that are constantly online and it should be stated that’s not how you speak about your marriage. Marriage is sacred.

@RealHWTweets Her testimony has been public for years. This is nothing new for either of them to be sharing on the Internet. The the Catholic part that I am referring to is the fact that they don’t do the big public declaring of past sins and praising the Lord for regeneration like Baptists do
