@Spectrum61726 Being up 2 goals up, a man up, and time wasting by clearly touching the ball after the whistle. Applying context there could’ve changed the tie just like giving a red, after initially giving a yellow mind you, changed the tie.
@Spectrum61726 The advantage is time wasting btw. That’s why they did it, they all heard the whistle. They did that knowing they’d get away with it to waste time
@Stanrayy13 The context is when no advantage is gained, like stealing 10 yards when taking a throw or a free kick. The two incidents from tonight’s game are perfect studies to show that context being applied to determine whether an action is worth punishing.
@Spectrum61726 As Criminal Justice professional, I agree. Discretion is imporant but so are ethical calls. Applying context only when it fits isn’t fair and consistent. The red card is totally a red card and it changed the tie. Giving that pen is totally a pen and it would’ve change the tie.
@yungslyque Rules exist to serve the game, not kill it. If nothing is gained or affected why punish it? Punishing it is meddling bureaucracy and hopefully footy is better than that. Well it’s not, but it was here.
@Spectrum61726 Mate, there should be context. Ref blew whistle, the game is in motion, other than the goalie no outfield player should handle the ball with their hands. This is not American football
@nikic2019 His problem is he doesn’t know his strengths. He’s poor at holding it up and not that skilful, yet plays like he excels at both. He’s an average finisher too and if he’s not scoring, he’s offering very little.
@ScouseRepublic@lfcmumble What’s that got to do with it? “Were you there?” isn’t a real argument. You don’t need to be physically present to have a view. It’s 90 mins, support, then judge at FT. Leaving 20 early isn’t rebellious, you’re just first in the same queue.
@Dating_Dynamics You forgot the part, before 1, where desperation and feelings of loneliness lead people to choose the wrong person, either through not knowing themselves and/or what they need. Usually cos they thought a nice far was enough.
@anon_opin Mad swine.. their attitude, work ethic & confidence made them. That belongs to no city, just the individuals. I’m Lennon’s case, it’s likely his mother’s death played a huge part in wanting to show he was worth something. Strange thing& absolutely sod all to do with a post code.
London has a far greater claim to The Beatles than Liverpool. They recorded all their albums there, and wrote all their best songs there. They were good in spite of being from Liverpool, not because of it. London made them.
They tried to silence the voice, but as I always told you, truth and time remain my greatest allies.
They made the mistake of thinking it would end there, never realizing they had made this a personal matter, and now it shall return with a force and determination they cannot contain.
@henrywinter You’re really pushing this. Scholes, Zidane, Messi, Breitner.. not English but all brilliant so I’d stake it’s that which is influencing said toe-cappers to pipe up.
Mood amongst some England fans is that Ben White didn’t deserve a recall after his self-imposed exile. “Mostly (the mood is) that he shouldn’t be in the squad. He’s made his bed…” says one top-capper.
#ENG 1/2
@DannyBoyFrost Enzo was using the ropes to stay up after the first punch in the corner.. the referee should’ve started his count there. Maybe the result stays the same, but it’s tough knowing the second punch ended a fight he might still have been in.
18 years ago today, David Haye (20-1/19KOs) defeated Enzo Maccarinelli (28-1/21KOs) by 2nd round KO to unify the WBC, WBA and WBO cruiserweight titles at the o2 arena in London 🏆#OnThisDay
@FirstDoctor@EZChameleon As if you have to ask this.. we’ve been drinking it for minimum 10,000 years and you’re seeking examples. Isn’t the 10,000 years not proof enough?
You just know Arsenal or Liverpool aren’t conceding that type of late long throw with a Gabriel or VVD clearing everyone out the way to head the ball. Chelsea’s CB recruitment both in previous windows and the lack of response to the Colwill injury coming directly into question.
@LFCJacobb@scotto1982 But you know the difference between a cross and a corner? For starters, one is a set piece and the other can be from open play. Corners usually more hit and hope and a cross not so much.
