Hey! This may come as a surprise, but I'm happy to announce that I've accepted a position as an associate professor at Washington University in St. Louis. It won't start *next* year (August 2026). I'm bummed to leave Michigan and all my friends but excited for this next step!

Last weeks have been dizzying as the fed canceled nearly all our @ISGMH NIH funded research 2 improve implementation of health services, health of young gay/bi/lesbian men & women, trans health in HIV, mental health, cancer, cardio disease, drug use, etc. How can you help? 🧵

I struggle to see the value of in person @NIH study sections. In general in person is almost alway better, but the juice just does not seem worth the squeeze. Huge expense, huge hassle, negative environmental impact, with very little if any added value of in person discussion

@SusanCSouth This dress is Reiss. Mostly I shop at Marcella (good modern basics), Ted Baker, Theory, Kate Spade (but the cuts and prints are getting a little too young for me), The Fold (but prices have gone up for no reason so I haven’t shopped there in awhile), and local boutiques.

@SusanCSouth Good points! It does seem like in many situations that kindness can be expressed, there are strong social norms that would guide behavior … so it can be unclear if behavior reflects their character or knowledge of norms.

Very curious to hear your thoughts ... What type of situation do you think would give you maximal information about someone's personality relevant for friendship/dating?

@ACLUIndiana Indiana tends to fly under the radar but it can't be overstated how dangerous this state is for pregnant people. And there is no mechanism to take this issue directly to the voters as in other states where abortion rights are strongly upheld.
