Bruno 165393’s owner is elderly, so after arriving in NYCACC Jan 6, he’s now Tuesday. A wonderful 12-year-old grandpa who is social, affectionate and playful, he just loves to be wherever you are. He knows his cues and his owner loves how friendly he is – described as “the most friendly dog ever”. Well lookie 👀 here who is #outtathestinkinshelter! Juanito! Juanito is a two year old stray that was found as a stray and brought to the New York ACC by his finder. It seems like he didn't like kids (hey, I can totally relate) and bit the finder's kid but didn't break the skin. He's at Hotel Steve and Steve said he's absolutely delightful! He's just waiting to be neutered then will be up for adoption.

His family adopted him and shortly after callously dumped him for “no time”. Anxious and scared, he’s putting his best paw forward and handling his predicament well, but is overwhelmed and frightened. These three were rushed to the vet. One had an upper respiratory infection. One was on the verge of having pneumonia, and one had full on pneumonia. These are three of the five pups we pulled from the Manhattan NYCACC with the mom Beauty 185058. Beauty was an owner surrender with the intention of the owner keeping the pups and then realized (EINSTEIN) that the mom had to nurse the pups, so she then surrendered the pups. This is what you call "backyard breeding" which is why so many animals end up in the shelter. Beauty is doing so well and now totally trusts the foster with her and her pups.

Ben (Benji) 181401 arrived as a stray underweight and with a heart murmur on SEP 1, now TBK Thursday in NYCACC. Again another dog who has been given no chance to acclimatize and placed immediately on the list. Found tied to a fence by police, he’s intensely terrified and has not received a handling assessment. This is Lucky with his head tremors. Apparently this can be an issue in certain breeds. What dog breeds are prone to idiopathic head tremors? Young to middle-aged male and female dogs are most commonly affected. All dogs including mixed breed dogs have been seen with these tremors but Dobermans, Bulldogs, French Bulldogs, Boxers, and Labradors seem to be more commonly affected
