How much can upper stages be tested on the ground? Can they be hot-fired *then* integrated onto the booster?

A rather rare album of nearly 100 pages from the USSR Ministry of Aviation Industry, dedicated to the NK-33 (11D111) rocket engine. It contains diagrams, technical drawings, electrical schematics, and, of course, photographs. Link: drive.google.com/file/d/1Zvvtr7…

Every launch it gets like 10% faster off the pad. Maybe I’m just imagining things but I think we can really see the improvements of the BE-4 over time here

@joeyigw @xdNiBoR They go with a really small amount of the company in and Starlink will be a very stable income

Long term Investor approval of the less profitable projects. A lot of mars is included. Congress is so up and down in terms of funding over the years, I'm afraid we'll hit a crossroad of NASA isn't funding something.. Will the shareholders? Probably not. Great move for anything not mars related though!

@fakecarlsagan @booster_10 Yeah I do think they could do this yeah as they once said 2 landings before ship catch attempt but also V2 and V3 ships are very similar so they might just say one is enough

@TimWrede2 @booster_10 Is there any reason they wouldn't plan to perform a recovery on the first launch into a stable orbit? So long as they target somewhere well offshore prior to the bellyflop, there wouldn't be any significant risks.

It's starting to look very unlikely but I do still hope that we see the ship survive tip over on flight 12 so it can be recovered and studied ahead of catch attempts in the future.

@ScottLikedSLS Why not add both, tuch screens and buttons so you can have some controls on Tuch screen and on buttons for example while coasting I’d say this could be interesting

Not a dig as i do like that they tried something different and more experimental with Dragon, buut i think SpaceX should drop or tone back the whole 'trying to be super futuristic by being as minimal as possible' thing with their interiors now.. Astronauts clearly prefer physical buttons and controls over touchscreen controls, should be catering to Astronaut preferences not aesthetics 🤷‍♂️
SLS@ScottLikedSLS

Thank you Victor for confirming my physics controls and buttons are better than screens point :) Cant say it doesnt Make me worried about Starship HLS, seeing as astronauts also fsr prefer physical controls.. since HLS seemingly uses majority screen control again and a contract agreement was to allow manual control of HLS for landing (which SpaceX has been fighting NASA about)

@TheIshikawaRin SSTO or at least a high long taking flight path, stage-> boost back if you do that while upperstage coast towards apogee switch to upperstage do orbital insertion switch back and land or MODS

@TheIshikawaRin as already mentioned FMRS deals with this in a nice way though I hope KSA has stock support for it in a cooler way than auto-saves

@PebMet1 @booster_10 These metal deflector-style trenches are proven, but they are disposable. All those steel panels wear away during each launch, meaning they must be replaced for each flight. This limits your launch cadence to repair times. You need water cooling for high launch rate usage.

@CruiZe427 @booster_10 Not just cooled they have tons of small holes to push the water out and make an additional barrier of cooler gas

My flight 12 prediction: Booster: No accent problem No decent problem Ship No accent problem No decent problem Why? The booster is made for 20g acceleration and the ice problem is solved by using different tanks The ship is mostly the V2 ship which allready proved itself
NicePixels 🚀@Starship_block3

My prediction for Flight 12: Booster: -Reasonable ascent -Nominal staging -Accurate boostback -explodes on landing due to forces Ship: -Nominal orbital insertion -Nominal Simlink deployment -Nominal deorbit burn -Extensively damaged during reentry -Makes landing burn ~10m 🎯
