The GOP's problem isn't so much that it's too conservative, but that its leader is repellant (and much of his inner circle retarded).
The Democrats' problem, on the other hand, is that, on some very important issues, it is simply too liberal for most Americans. Actually, "liberal" isn't even the right word. Crazy is the right word.
Literally all the Dems have to do is become more normal on immigration and "identity" issues, and they would pummel a MAGA-oriented GOP in national elections.
