“Frequencies Under the Moon” Screeeeeeee— A never ending ringing in my ears. That’s the worst part of every full moon. Once you transform, you can hear frequencies only perceptible to an animal. And no, I don’t mean a dog. When the moon rises and I sprout wings from my arms, transforming me into a ridiculous looking man-sized bat, I hear all the screeching noises I was never meant to discern. Imagine you're a teenager and someone turns on one of those Mosquito contraptions; that’s me every month. And no, you never get used to it. So here I flap around in these awful oversized wings with frequencies not unlike tinnitus bouncing around my brain all night until I finally shed the wings, fur, and fangs and go back to being an accountant. It ain’t easy being a werebat. When I finally get this fixed I am not gonna miss all those screaming bird wannabes and their “echolocation”. Heck, I actually feel sorry for them. #microfiction #WritingCommunity

@creatively_comp Love this! I live with tinnitus, so I definitely empathize with werebat. Be interesting to see how it would "get fixed." lol. Like, talk about incongruous worlds- a were-creature and an accountant.... intriguing

@creatively_comp A surprising proportion of my short fiction ideas come from dreams. I tend to wake up at 3:00 AM, tap out an idea on my phone, and build an outline from there.
