Writers, what do you think of using KDP's free ebook promotions? These are controversial, I know. Do you prefer to bring in new readers or do you refuse to give your work away for free?

@itsdylanmercer A bit of both. I write outlines to help me think the story out, but I don’t follow it completely. The story often grows as I write.

@everest_r58083 I’m more worried about them making off with my files 😅 so I’m using people know as beta readers. I’ve gotten really good feedback too, so far.

Anybody else worry when finding beta readers? With all the perspectives out there, who's to know who's being professional or just opinionated?

“Decision Day” (The Harbinger part 2) The marching infantry’s heavy, laced boots thudded as they went. Cannon fire resounded through the valley. Electric arrows rained from the sky continuously as mages took turns expelling magic into the enemy forces. *So this is the “Great Northern Kingdom,”* the Harbinger thought. He hovered high above the conflict, watching as King Rupert’s army flooded the castle town at the valley’s mouth. A few stitches from his cloak had come undone, leaving the hem fluttering in the wind. He narrowed his eyes. This was no war—the Southern Kingdom had launched a full out invasion. Soon the town would be plundered, the thatched roofs ablaze. *How did it come to this?* The Harbinger soared over the town and up to the great hall. There was bound to be some official in there. It was time for a change in leadership in the Southern Kingdom. Ever since the Rosaldo family assumed the throne, the land had collapsed, and the constant taxation had created widespread poverty.
