The final of 2,250 Arabidopsis seeds individually glued (micropyle down!) to PES membranes ahead of the Space-X 24 launch in a couple weeks! This is attempt 2 after a snafu on orbit in July.. I love my job, but I sincerely hope this is the last time I have to set this one up 😅

@davewiner I wonder if you've seen what @OmniGroup is doing with its scripting work across its apps and across platforms - based on core JavaScript omni-automation.com

2/2 The theory of Frontier was to pour lots of attention into the scripting language, and make it work across all apps. We did a pretty fair job. It didn't get as much attention as it deserved because Apple got in the way. We shouldn't give up on this ideal. It's still possible.

1/2 The best platforms are ones with lots of users. For example, the Finder on the Mac needs a simple scripting language. Starting with Lotus 1-2-3, spreadsheets had macro languages. Programmable editors are popular because writers love to get their writing environment just-so.

@davewiner We’ve had a Schwinn Biofit 150 for a long time and it does the job well - inexpensive, easy, and it fits all of us well.

I want a simple stationary exercise bike that feels somewhat like riding a real bike and NOT a Peloton. don’t want classes, besides there’s a long queue for peloton. Any recommendations?

After class, I edit the audio into chapters, add images of slides as chapter art, and post it as a podcast they can subscribe to. I’m giving a take-home exam today, so it’s a good day to take a few photos of this lovely, sticky, humid, hot, beautiful, historic space!

This is my classroom for the semester. Most days there are about 35 students scattered throughout this large chapel on campus, and another 7 or so attending via Zoom in real time. If they can’t make it, my lectures are posted with video as soon as class is over.

@gruber @davewiner I bounce between OmniOutliner and Little Outliner. Something very accessible about Little Outliner and its always-there that really encourages outlining.

I would kill for a good simple outliner that synced across iOS and Mac, and had a great *simple* UI on all three platforms.
